So who's going to Lawrence for the season opener? Tickets have started popping up on Stub Hub already (20-30 yard lines, row 5-6 for $50-$60). Ames was a blast last year and hopefully Lawrence will be even better. Has anyone been to a game there before? What's the atmosphere like? Is the tailgating set up pretty decent?

I checked the alumni association website for hotel listings but didn't see anything. Do they have group blocks set up at any hotels?

Good question. But I didn't want to wait. There really aren't that many hotels in Lawrence. I am staying at the Spring Hills Suites (higher rates because KU having a home game). Not cheap for sure, but right next to downtown bars and eateries.
