Iowa athletic director Gary Barta has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will take an extended medical leave to undergo surgery and treatment, the university confirmed Tuesday.

He will return to work as soon as his recovery allows.

For those not familiar with the name, Gary Barta was a QB at NDSU in the 1980’s. Bio says he was a member of the National Championship teams of 1983, 1985, 1986.
Barta has made quite a career for himself, rising to the Athletic Director job at Iowa in 2006.

James Madison should be tested some this Saturday at home vs #11 Villanova. Game is at 2:30 Central Time.

In terms of a common opponent played this year to date:

Villanova shut out Maine 31-0 at HOME on October 7th.

James Madison defeated Maine 28-10 at HOME on September 23rd.

Looks like Villanova dealing with injuries, STATS picks JMU to win 24-14

Villanova's offense has been decimated by injuries (WR Changa Hodge, TE Ryan Bell, RB Matt Gudzak, QB Zach Bednarczyk) and seeks to play ball control without overwhelming redshirt freshman QB Jack Schetelich ('Nova had 47 rushes and eight pass attempts in his first start against Maine).

#2 Clemson in a battle, trailing Syracuse 27-24 with 8 minutes to go in the game.

Is it just me, or does Syracuse have the ugliest uniforms (the numbers are all stretched out at the bottom). Looks like something out of freakin' grade school.
