I do imagine during his recruiting year, there were not scholarships available. No one saw the transfer portal exodus coming.

Florida St is missing a whopping 21 players for their Orange Bowl matchup with Georgia. 2 are gone due to a season ending injury, 9 are forgoing the game to prepare for the NFL draft, and 10 have announced their intention to transfer (or have already transferred).

I really think this portal activity should not begin until post season games are completed.
Same thoughts on draft declarations. Season isn't over until it's over.
