und fans are adament about wearing thier sioux jerseys and cheering thier sioux chants no matter what, so why would you invite them regardless ?

I don't think that's an issue for the conference. All they need is enough political cover to get them in the front door.

At the end of the day this is about money for both UND and the Summit.

I still don't understand why more UND fans are not upset with the fact they are without a conference as opposed to a nickname. In 5 years, people will not remember....they will...but they won't. You understand. Without a conference....it is VERY HARD to compete/recruit. Not sure why not more people talk about this. Maybe Dan Hammer should get his nose out of the nickname thing and ask UND big wigs why/where the conference is going to come from.

Because Hammer needs all the ratings grabbing material he can get. Plus, having a sidekick like Tankini, I'm sure doesn't help.

I don't think that's the reason that they handed the decison to the SBoE.

I think they did that so that when the hard core nickname people come knocking they can point their left index finger at the SBoE while they continue to pinch checks between their right index finger and thumb.

It's all about money - Why else would they would the SBoE take it over? Now the SBoE is the bad guy not the U. Alumni will still give but cuss the SBoE. I don't for a second think that the admin of the U isn't pulling the strings, that's a given. If Mayville wanted to change to the Stars would the SBoE step in??

This thing has probably been packaged since they decided to admit USD. the SBoE isn't going to risk the rath of the hardcore if there isn't a conference at the other end of the rainbow. UND can't do it themselves for the same reason, but SBoE can provide cover for both UND and the conference by doing what they did.

Not a much as you might think. UND has already been changing over their uniforms as they wear out to ones without the Sioux name and logo. It will cost the REA a million or two to make the required changes, but the NCAA settlement allows them to spread that out over several years and replace the offending items as they wear out(carpeting, seats, etc.).
