    Default Minnesota Opener

So where will you guys be headed for fishing opener? I will be around the perham area and I'm thinking that it might be on the slow side with the water temps. but it looks like the weather won't be so terrible.

Yes but is usually in the 70s by Monday. LOL Never fails.
One year we fished Mille Lacs. On Sunday it rained and sleeted on us. By 3pm we were wearing shorts. Craziest weather I had ever seen.
Another year it was 65 degrees on thursday going in to friday. By 12 midnight when it opened it was 32 degrees.

Going to miss the opener for the first time in YEARS. But will becoming up a week later. Hope fully the water temps will be up alittle by that time.

I hope it's not too bad becuase I have to run the half marathon in the morning. Last year I froze my nuts off all morning and we managed one walleye. It then preceded to snow around 4 and we called it good. Sun morning was probs the coldest I have ever open water fished in. PL, it'll be a good idea to be late one week unless these water temps jump like ten degrees.

This could have been a made up story but a guy was telling me when I was up there last summer that people actually took their boats out to the ice and then ice fished for opener last year. It's almost hard to believe but that's pretty dam extreme.

I'm in White Bear, I'll wait for a couple weeks until the smoke clears.

I'll be at Devils Lake. Oh wait, you guys are fishing Minnesota. Never mind.

If I was there, I'd try Little Detroit for panfish or the south side of Big Detroit for walleyes from the bluff to the east as far as the hump.
