Here is an article and video about Laura Roesler at Howard Wood Dakota Relays. She won the 200 with a time of 24.55...

Another article in the Argus Leader. They do a good job covering track. This one has a paragraph about Laura's recruitment...
    http://www.argusleader.com/article/2...905010335/1002

    Quote:
Roesler's recruiting stock went through the roof, and her options are wide open. She mentioned Minnesota and NDSU as schools she will visit, but added there may be "schools in California" she would consider.
Coaches can start calling July 1, and the Roeslers will be ready.

"My mom jokes about it," says Laura. "She said she's going to take our phone off the hook."

The trick will be Laura getting the phone away from mom. I can see her become very involved. She may be talking about Stanford. They are the best of the California schools for mid to long distance. I can see Michigan taking a good look at her as well.

That's agreat article. 18'10" girls long jump is rediculous. King is quite the athlete. Reading that article made me realize how big Roesler's 200 win was.

Is there anyone that the Howard Wood will be able to bring in to compete with Laura in the special 800 next year?

Here is the Top 10 thus far for high school girls in the nation as of 5/06:

    2:05.83 Charlene Lipsey (Hempstead, NY)
    2:07.69i *Phyllis Francis (McAuley, Brooklyn)
2:08.0i Stephanie Brown (Tri-Valley, Downs, Il)
2:08.14 *Emily Menges (Garden City, NY)
    2:08.2 Stephanie Morgan (Barnesville, Oh)
    2:08.80i *Laura Roesler (S, Fargo, N.D.)
    2:09.00 Skyler Wallen (Northwestern, Miami)
2:09.09 **Chelsey Sveinsson (Greenhill, Addison, Tx)
2:09.27 Justine Fedronic (Carlmont, Belmont, Ca)
2:09.57 Carlyle Davis (Marlborough, Los Angeles, Ca)

Also, there is Shelby Houlihan from Iowa who is a sophomore that won Drake with a low 2:10 that might be good competition for Laura next year.

There is always the boys race!

I watched her on Friday. She ran the 400 and finished as strong as she did in the 200. If only there was someone to push her.
