4 more floods like this and Fargo could have built the Vikings a new stadium and stole the team away from Minnesota.

Question is, would you rather have the floods or the Vikings?

The estimated cost of the Fargo Southside Flood Protection project is $161 million. This would protect everything south of 32nd Ave S in the city and a large area south of the city. They are hoping to get this project started this year. (A good portion of the money spent this spring has been in this area.)

Another flood protection project started in north Fargo last fall. It will protect the area from the south end of the VA flood wall to the northeast corner of El Zagel golf course. Some permanent dikes and some flood walls are in this plan.

This is a very interesting fact:

The flood has swept huge amounts of water past Fargo and Moorhead.

At the flood’s peak, the amount of water flowing between the cities in a five-hour period represented the amount of water Fargo residents use in a year, officials said Wednesday.

I heard it at yesterday's flood meeting, and it was reported in the Forum today.

I work for the university-and from what my manager told me, we should know by sometime today what the administration decides. Any new information will be posted at http://www.ndsu.edu/news/flood/ on top of a student listserv sent out to everyone. NDSU has said that they do not want to go into summer because the commencement ceremony is pretty much already set.

I am guessing that NDSU will follow something similar to what MSUM did. They did away with their easter break next Friday and Monday, got rid of 2 more days off that they had on their calendar and they took a day or two of finals week for instruction time and rescheduled finals.

400K for the dome! I would have did it for 200K. It may have taken me a year but for 200K I'd take a year off from work to clean it up.
