If it hits 42, NDSU needs to call off school for the rest of the week because they city is going to need an all out effort.

I heard 41 on Friday. That is what KFGO has been saying since around 3:30 PM. I also heard that it may not be possible to protect for over 42 feet. Apparently has to do with the height vs. the base and strength of the clay dikes. We are in serious trouble. In Denny we trust. I am also an NDSU student with a CDL so if anyone knows of anyone who needs a big truck driven, I would gladly donate my time to save my city. I can also help with any sandbagging.

Since my major is Emergency Management I really get excited and worried around this time of year. Here are some great resources that will help with a lot of questions. If anyone has any questions that you can't find answers for let me know and I can send you what I know and where I got the information. I live for this stuff!!

NOAA forcast and current level of the flood:

How to make a basic emergency supply kit (Most important part is to make sure you have food and water for at least 72 hours and please do not rely on your refrigerator or city water during a flood):

    http://www.nd.gov/des/uploads/resour...ysupplykit.pdf

North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (Good resources on flood preparedness):

North Dakota State University (Current level of the flood and other valuable resources):

If you have to sandbag and want to know how many sandbags you need:

I'm finishing up a problem set that's due tomorrow, then I'm off to sandbag all night. Maybe see some of you there!

Well we are getting some flooding already which I was not expecting. Living in Casselton since 2000 I do not know if the yard went under water in '97. Back yard is about 1/2 way under water due to todays rain and the front yard is gettin bad as well. I will not be surprised if my driveway is under water come morning. Bad thing is sandbagging will not help me at all.
