Default Nationally televised sporting events in N.D.

During the Summit Leauge championship, the announcers noted that this was the 1st televised sporting event from South Dakota.

I'm guessing there have only been a few from North Dakota -- a Virgil Hill boxing match and maybe some college hockey games. Have WCHA games ever been nationally televised?

Womens D2 title games from the BSA have been on ESPN or ESPN2 before also.

Pretty sure ESPN was at one of the women's BB national title games back in the 90s at the BSA.

I think the 1992 and 1995 American Legion World Series was shown on ESPN from Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo. It returns this summer as well, but at this time at Newman.

However, then last night's comments were wrong, because Rapid City has hosted the WS from Rapid City numerous times and I recall that game being broadcast as well.

Wasn't there an amateur baseball game (or something) broadcast from Oakes (or somewhere) a few summers ago?

i dont think the wcha tournament games have ever been on national tv but the ncaa tournament is usually on espnu, espn2, and i think the championship game might be on espn if i remember correctly. they even show the selection show on espn2 if i recall correctly from last year.

Humm, considering I have a copy of about all but 4 minutes I think of that game, I will have to find it and see if it was ESPN. I recently converted it to DVD. Not sure what happened to the missing beginning.
