To say they are not a "real band" or are an "80's band" is ridiculous, in my opinion. One may not like them, that is fine. But this band has defined a genre, influenced countless others, been hugely successful, and cultivated legions of fans over a 4-decade career. To me, that's exactly what a real band is. Very, very few have reached this level.
