Such a shame. A great footballer and from what I understand from people who new him a heck of a man. PL

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

One of the immortal Purple People Eaters and a common man here in the Cities. It wasn't just the front four you know. He will be missed.

#58 was an important member of those Viking teams I cheered for as a kid. RIP #58....

Those Vikings were my childhood heros as well: Eller, Page, Winston, Marshall, Kapp, etc. I still remember how I cried as a 6 year old when the Vikings lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. When my son was 10, he cried the same way when the Vike's lost to Atlanta during that 15-1 season.

Me too. And Warwick, Kassulke, Krause, Osborn (even though he went to the wrong school), Bill Brown, Tinglehoff, Gene Washington, and on and on.

Great teams, but I think they broke a lot of our hearts back then...
