    Default UNI dropping baseball?

Not good, or is it? UND will surely drop their program eventually which would leave us and SDSU as the only programs in the upper midwest. (outside of Minnesota of course)

With the stadium we have on campus, I can't see NDSU ever dropping the program. Wouldn't it be wierd to have one of the finest collegiate baseball stadiums on campus that is only used for minor league games?

I think NDSU has a financial agreement in Newman Field, naming rights etc.

    How long is that for?

Doubt it would be dropped any time soon.

Once the City of Fargo is repaid the money it spent to build Newman Outdoor Field, the stadium becomes property of NDSU. All of the suite rental money is turned over to the city to pay back its investment. This was all set up before the stadium was built.

UNI would be stupid to drop baseball, but I guess it sounds like it will happen eventually. Regarding NDSU's baseball program, I find it hard to imagine that it would get scrapped while Newman is still around. The athletic department might cut support for the program or just continue to under fund it but I don't see it going away any time soon.

NDSU is increasing the number of scholarships for baseball over the next couple of years.
