The city doesn't need more ice. They want more ice. I could give a flying fuck if the city has ice and I certainly don't want to fund it. This is like salt in the wound. Scheels Center was bailed out. Blue Stem. Sick of these guys spending other peoples money like it's their own because they make decisions based on doing favors for the rich assholes, not for the idiots who voted for them. I may have felt differently had they not bailed out the developer from the get go.

Bluestream, while a debacle, was never anything but a public project. This mess looks like a classic case of private gains/public losses. Politically, the City of Fargo never could have gotten an arena and 4 additional sheets of ice built. At least the politicians in the Twin Cities have the courage to tell their voters 'we're going to give a bunch of public money away to these rich guys and no you don't get a vote' before they go ahead and do it. There's something marginally more honorable about that process compared to this perpetual bailout thing Fargo has going with Ace Brandt.

You may not like it but the city is going to build more rinks. They are probably looking at this option because it could very well be cheaper than going it alone.

Um, we're going to be up to our asses in snow and ice in four months.

I'll gladly shovel off the pond in my neighborhood for only one million dollars.

That's how hockey has always been. Early morning and late night practices. It is what it is.

Serious this whole deal will cost 8 million for 2 sheets of ice? (yep 4 million per sheet?) Are you fucking kidding me? Maybe I'm just out of touch with the cost of things but surely if the park board doesn't chip in 2 million, the other 6 milllion should cover the costs. Of course they probably want it to be super fancy. Think about it we built the entire indoor track building for around 5-7 million. (correct me if I'm wrong)
