Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

    It was posted on anygivensaturday.com.

There are the years that there are 13 Saturdays between opening weekend and the week before Thanksgiving (or something like that).

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

What I think will happen is this:

When NDSU cannot get any Power 5 takers (because lets face it, except for a select few group of 5 teams, most of them won't pay us to come beat them), NDSU will...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

A few years ago James Madison played a neutral site game against Virginia Tech at Fed Ex Field in Landover, Maryland (home of the Washington Redskins).

Evidently that game occurred because a...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

I do agree with you that there are no "high quality HBCU's" now, but they do travel well, and they do come up north. Earlier this September there was the Chicago Football Classic game between...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

Actually, it makes a lot of sense:

By scheduling a game against a team that is not "in region" and does not have a lot of fans traveling to watch, it frees up more tickets for NDSU fans. This way...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

For those complaining about the game being in a baseball stadium, keep in mind:

    1. NDSU can potentially make $1 million for the game, which is more than any guarantee game we have played ever to...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

Question for you. I am not a member of Team makers, so I do not know the answer to this. Is there a written policy that states that Team makers dues are based on 6 home games every year?

    If...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

While I agree that playing at Target Field was a little head scratching while knowing that US Bank Stadium is there also, there could be a few reasons for this:

    1. Cost of using Target Field vs....

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

I don't think this would be a problem. There are plenty of companies would spend some money to put their name on a game like this. They may not pay the $5-$10 million or more that Chick Fil A or...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

I agree. If anything, NDSU may pay a larger guarantee, but as a negotiating point, they could tell the team they are trying to get the game with that a charter flight to Minneapolis would be cheaper...

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

Why does it need to stop?

Are you afraid that South Dakota fans would come in droves and buy all of our tickets if we played them in the Twin Cities?

Re: NDSU looks at possible football game at Target Field

I haven't read all the posts (on the road at a conference), but from reading the article-

I have to imagine that there are 0 serious FBS possibilities for 2018 and 2019 after we beat Iowa, so...
