Whew......glad to hear Carson can afford to come now!
No possible way. This is all a Target Field deal. Folks are WAY overthinking this. The Twins saw a market opportunity to make more money on their ballpark for smaller college football games since...
Yeah, he nailed it. I think Target field is the right venue as US Bank is just too big. They will need a high level opponent next time. Think JMU, Montana, Jacksonville St, or EWU.
I got a buddy at the Lake driving in for the game then back to the Lake. I hope more do the same!
Trust me, when Minneapolis destroyed the Viking's Washington Avenue tailgating, it sucked really, really bad. It is football and way me fun to tailgate than go to a bar even is MSP. No different...
Then why did NDSU send me an e-mail telling me I'd get to buy tickets at the same moment as season ticket holders?
checked; nothing. Any other non-season ticket holders gotten it?
I still have not gotten my e-mail. I had gotten an e-mail that I will be allowed to buy early as a teammaker w/o season tickets.
I agree with the overall thoughts, but the metrodome was built for football, and they happened to play baseball there......
Not to mention you may be able to do a bigger guarantee than in Fargo, but note the Twins aren't doing this for charity......
I'm am curious what they will do pregame. There really is no open area there for tailgating. In fact, the stadium sits in the spot that was the last big Vikings tailgating lot after they ruined...
I'd consider those, but I do want to watch the game, and remember what the heck I am watching...... :)
It was never for next year for NDSU. It think this fiasco is full speed ahead unless I missed something. I'll say it again; only way this makes any sense for NDSU is if it is an away game for them,...
I think the answer to all of this is the Twins are out to find a new way to make money and they are instigating this. Until similar invitations come from those facilities, I don't think it will...
Funny thing is I have a pulse, and did not see that. So I guess you are wrong.
I think it is crystal clear at this point. I simply was not sure before.
Yes, they would take a cut, but no way NDSU agrees to this without a sizable cut/guarentee. Just crazy talk here, but could they sell out a UN_/NDSU game? Tough being outside of ND, but tons would...
Well, it would be somewhat plausible. NDSU has no FBS game in 2018 that is quoted in the article. So, they could play a road game for a non-con that year. And if the payment was FBS like, well,...
What would interesting is if St. Peter has an alterior motive. Perhaps, his plan is to get UN_/NDSU to play there as a UN_ home game. If NDSU got a huge purse, it may be hard to say no.
makes me think the Twins instigated this whole idea.
Tony and TAB, quite making good posts that make us think and not personally attack each other. Knock it off. [/purple]
PL, careful now, that strangely sounds like you are a agreeing with me. Quick, find a way to disagree to put the world back in order!
There is a reason they came to the Gopher games; it was a B1G game. And I don't think 10-15K will come from Fargo as we don't get 10-15 K to come to Brookings and there are plenty of seats!
They will never draw 40K without something to make it "splashy." B1G won't play them; and would a MAC team make it splashy? It will be a cluster if a weak FCS team as local alumni would not even go.
Seriously, could they pay mil to get a MAC team? Only way this remotely makes sense. And still not sure folks would come.
