Pretty sure the local media uses the coaches poll because one year they all got it in their heads that is the poll the committee likes the most. That really isn't the case but they have stuck with it.

The Big South enjoys the "Great West" effect. Small conference that for the most part beat the schools they should beat and lost to the good teams they played. Not really a top 2 conference because...
