    Re: Vigen

You have a thing or two to learn about NCAA rules governing FBS scholarships and how the vast majority of FBS/BCS schools operate.

    Re: 2012 Recruiting Summary

Kill intends to sign three offensive linemen for 2012 and has offered all three slots to Minnesotans: Isaac Hayes (committed), Jonah Pirsig (reportedly down to Minnesota and Iowa), and Nick Davidson...
  3. Re: Are We Scheduled To Play/Beat The goofers After This Year?

I think that's it, Bison Dan. NDSU is too much of a powerhouse to risk playing. Must be why Iowa doesn't want to play the Bison either.

UNI is pretty much locked in to Iowa and Iowa State as its...
  4. Re: Are We Scheduled To Play/Beat The goofers After This Year?

To return to the OP's question, not in the foreseeable future.

FBS schools are limited to playing one FCS team per year. Minnesota has the following FCS games scheduled after this coming season:

Re: Joe Mollberg picked up an offer from...

Joe Mollberg would be a terrific get for NDSU. Doubtful he'll get many (if any) BCS offers, but he should garner a number of offers from MAC and other lower-level FBS schools.

    Re: Frank Veldman

Minnesota has had some late decommits and official visit cancellations. Not saying Veldman's NDSU commitment isn't solid, but stay tuned; it could get interesting.

    Re: 2011 Recruiting Summary

    Lakes--

Just to correct one erroneous bit of information in the source you cited: Veldman did not have an offer from Northern Illinois. All of his scholarship offers were from FCS schools.

    And,...

Congratulations on Frank Veldman's commitment. A solid all-around athlete and an excellent FCS prospect. Picked the Bison over scholarship offers from SDSU and Southern Illinois and a walk-on offer...

    Re: 2011 Recruiting

Here's the sad truth, SDBison: year in and year out, Minnesota gets more national exposure and recognition by losing than NDSU does by going to the FCS playoffs. Nobody (and I mean literally nobody)...

    Re: We Want Ernie!!!!

Sorry, Silk, but WildBill is right--you missed the point, not him.

Regarding preferred walk-ons, there is no specific limit on the number of preferred walk-ons other than the roster limit itself....

Yes, Rohr "signed" (committed) to Minnesota last summer while Brewster was still coach. Minnesota fans never thought much of him--two stars, 11th-rated player in Wisconsin, etc. Would have had to...

Do you mean Bjorkland? True; he's likely to be offered, and likely to accept, a scholarship by the Gophers this weekend.

  25. WAC down to six schools in 2011; time to consider FBS move?

With the Mountain West's recent acceptance of Fresno State and Nevada-Reno, the WAC will be down to six schools in 2011--too few, it seems, to survive as a major college football conference. With...
