Who is the "Judy" someone referred to in a later post? Conference commish?
I agree. It ties football to the other sports, thereby cementing the status quo, since I can't see anyway the other sports move to another conference.
That would be interesting, but may make it difficult for NDSU football to leave if there was ever an opportunity. That's one nice things about MVFC....it's just football so there is latitude to...
This. Honesty, the Summit can pass the Valley in time. It's going to take awhile for the brand to catch up, but in terms of results it can easily happen.
Makes me wonder if anyone is actually capable of any thought beyond just the most basic, surface view. Few in KC actually watch or care about UMKC.
I'm fine with it. I do find it ironic, however, that somehow that has been a big point for reasons NDSU shouldn't be added to this conference or that conference but somehow it's fine when it goes the...
Better with the future version but I do miss Oakland.
Ah, thank you, that makes sense. Got it.
Maybe it's different for DII vs. DIII? I'm thinking about Mankato, Duluth, St. Cloud, etc. Or is it a grandfathered in thing?
Did the rules change? There are a lot of "DI" hockey programs that are not DI right?
Yes, that is very common. It's because Hockey is not considered a major sport. That's not smack talk, it's almost the exact wording the NCAA uses.
Well, it happened. UST to Summit.
What do you think?
I think it's good and solidifies the conference membership a bit.
I'm not trying to argue with you. I believe you. I'm just saying that hasn't been my experience. It's probably different everywhere. Where I've worked there is no way new hires with similar academic...
Interesting, I'm sure it's a little different everywhere. I've worked for two separate companies that hire interns and new hires from a few specific schools but that doesn't mean they didn't hire...
For MOST people, this has no value on their degree or their value in the marketplace. In the corporate world, once you're a few years into the job all that matters is that you checked the college...
Also, get off my lawn!
I kind of chuckle at the ivory tower elitist stuff. My experience in the workforce is great people come from all over. Just because someone graduated from X school doesn't mean crap in terms of...
That doesn't bother me. It's an athletic conference and it's not like this is the Ivy League. I'm sure I'll continue to do just fine with my NDSU diploma.
I'm not thrilled with Auggie but I do think adding them would be good for the Summit stability, along with UMKC. At this point it seems like this is going to happen.
I can totally see why USD and...
Apparently they also don't want to be associated with games with actual fans watching. It worked great back in the day and the NDSU women's program was likely as big or better of a draw than the...
Maybe now that it's going to be essentially NCC 2.0 they can change back to doing this. All of the Dakota schools and Auggie would likely have pretty strong attendance (except for maybe the hockies)...
Yep, absolutely agree. I'm out of town (about to get much farther out of town) and it would be fun to come in for a weekend of bb. Random games on weekdays, not so much.
I won't pretend to understand all that goes into scheduling, but I agree. It was so much easier to attend games back in the NCC days and I loved the Men's / Women's doubleheaders. I'm sure there is...
This. Football is clearly making money if you accounted for everything properly. "it's the horse that pulls the wagon"
