I think their Summit start date is fall 2021. That would be 1 more year in DIII, is the plan. It might take them that year to get more DI schedules in place, but it’s a long road as Bison fan know...

You don’t just say, “hey let’s start a new conference and play at the FBS level for football”.

Doesn’t work that way. P5 schools would say no. Need to join an existing conference.

DU might not like a Metro add, I doubt they look at that positively.

What does having another DI university in MN accomplish? Any of the DIIs would need to eliminate hockey or FB and cut athletics to the bone. Again, MN is better off as is. U of MN has 55k students...

U of M student population is equivalent to all 4 univeesities in ND and SD, and spending on athletics exceeds all 4 also. So I’m not buying your 2 universities vs 1 logic.
