Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

I have it on pretty good authority, the NCAA staff was very pleased with the all-MVFC championship. The committee may have had other thoughts, but I doubt it.

Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

Sorry. Mistype on my part. So you would be OK if they would have made the Bison #4 and McNeese #3 in order to split up the MVFC teams? People would have been livid about that not realizing it maybe...

Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

How would you have seeded things differently for the 4 teams that ended up on the same side of the bracket (2/3/6/7)? The NCAA basketball tournament apparently does some 1-seed adjusting to limit...

Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

I learned it from the high school playoff assignments for officials in Indiana. Guys bitch like you would not believe because they didn't advance as far as they should. Advancement is based largely...

Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

It would have been hard to give the Bison anything higher than the seed they got because they lost 2 games regardless of who beat them. JSU only lost 1 game to a decent SEC team and easily handled...

Taylor is NAIA. These are both good programs for their level and competitive with a school like Butler since their scholarship numbers are similar. Butler does have the advantage of their basketball...

I doubt a player who is a National Merit Scholar and eligible for a full academic scholarship would be denied that. Private schools have very different aid packages than a public university.

Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

Our D3 and NAIA schools schedule Butler and depending on the year are fairly competitive. Butler does get some decent high school players from the area because it's a great school and athletes want...

Re: Another option for 9/3 game (opening weekend)

That surprises me. Most of our D3 schools have 60-70 players with some having well over 100. And this is not a very good D3 conference. Maybe they are limited on the number of players that can dress...
