Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

You guys are basically asking for most of college athletics to separate itself from the NCAA and that ain’t gonna happen now. No way no how. The more things change the more they stay the same, meet...

Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

I'm assuming the cash isn't infinite. Do you think it is?

'Boosters' basically pay the players the ridiculous $$ now. Once the schools have to do that, will the boosters just become donors to the...

Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

The power conferences just saved the NCAA so it should be obvious at this point who’s in charge. NCAA is powerless but doesn’t have to worry about getting sued anymore. That was the gist of the deal....

Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

Yeah I've seen that too but it's 'up to' 22% so would appear to be a sliding scale. If they cap FB rosters at 85 like they are saying, there will be athletes looking to play and it doesn't appear NIL...

Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

The number ML threw out was 40, which aligns 20/20 B1G/SEC, so one assumes those two will continue to collect the best FB brands (see ACC) to form the new P2. After that you have whats left of FBS (a...

Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

Right, and the NCAA is clearly doing everything it can to stay attached to the CFP

The 2nd level will whine but go along because what else can you do really? But there will be a reset and...

Re: NCAA vs the world lawsuits

If I’m not mistaken the P5 just voted unanimously to save the NCAAs ass, so that should erase any doubt

I also can’t see the G5 leaving. They will take what they get like they always have, because...

In the post right above yours and by reading the links

They drop down to a high G5 level ($60 M from $90+) which they will obviously feel deeply, but that has no bearing on their desire or ability...

Re: A new and better FBS thread

The total NDUS D1 athletic budget is around $60M, which fits right in with SDSU, UNLV, CSU, and Boise. So, no doubt, a nonredundant NDUS D1 model would be in discussion for the PAC rebuild. Maybe...

    Re: St. Thomas to DI-approved

It’s all relative. It was better for them before B1G hockey was really a thing. Diehard goldy fans complained for a little while about how much they missed the old days, but not so much anymore …

Re: A new and better FBS thread

Again, on 1660 today they fielded this very question - 'why can't we just make a new conference?'

It was soundly and immediately dismissed as impossible, so it doesn't sound like NDSU sees this as...

Re: A new and better FBS thread

Re: A new and better FBS thread

No to hockey. ND is already spread too thin as a state in this new D1 era, and susie has to compete with the B1G now, plus the portal. Not going super great in case you haven’t been paying attention...

Re: A new and better FBS thread

Assuming ML knows more than us mere peons, the number he threw out there for the 'premier league' was 40 teams, which would seem to suggest 20/20 SEC/B1G

IF this is real, that leaves many teams...
