No you are right … no buyout was needed … but there was enough disgruntled boosters that wanted him gone. He barely survived remaining this year.
Yet there were boosters willing to cough up $33M for his buyout.
Nebraska lost one big man (Allick) to graduation and another (Wilcher) to the portal. Plenty of PT available.
I agree ... he's not playing enough minutes ... he should be playing more than he currently is playing ... starting could help but its not necessarily a necessity.
What is interesting is that SDSU needs NDSU to beat UNO in order to claim the 1 seed!
Agree ... starting/not starting should not be THAT big of a deal. Dex Werner did very well. But MPG is important.
NDSU is arguably one of the better Summit league jobs. Its a program that should be in the top 4 of the conference year-in and year-out. Its got facilities, support and a strong enough recruiting...
I'm not arguing that Miller should've been starting but Dex's role his last two years was pretty well defined and he by his play earned the minutes he got. In that context alone Dex played about as...
Daum is a wonderful player - tough mismatch - and frankly should be playing at a P5 school but ... he's not NBA material. Too slow to guard stretch 4's, too small to play the 5 spot. Look at any...
Go ahead and Gerry Faust this thing if you want!
NDSU would be beat Northern State by 20 easily. No contest.
Otzelberger has at least another year of high end results especially if Daum returns ... I suspect he wants a P5 or near P5 opportunity (Iowa State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Creighton) before he...
Seriously, who is going to score next year?
44% of the scoring walks out the door - next week.
Disagree ... football proves that NDSU can be very very successful in any athletic endeavor. It generates revenues, prestige and recognition that all the other programs should be utilizing. In part...
Its Western Illinois 2-10 in conference without a doubt the worst team in the conference!
I'm about to suggest something that may result in me getting run off this board but could some of the problem be Paul Miller? As an individual player he's spectacular and could very arguably have a...
The way Nebraska is playing right now - he might not make that squad. Huskers are playing pretty well!
100% Agreed
"The problem seems to be the utilization of the talent" .... we all have our thoughts and opinions but why is Deng Geu playing the 8th most minutes per game on this team ... he's arguably THE most...
Agreed ... particularly on lack of unity, emotion and leadership .... you can lead a horse to water but if the horse won't drink. Nevertheless I believe the HC is responsible for creating an...
You are a bit optimistic ... its always nice to think about the potentially positive outcomes that next year brings.
To be the contrarian ... losing Paul Miller arguably conference POY (if it...
He's a kid averaging 4.3/ppg - 19 minutes/game - started 22 of 26 games. Its not like he has much of a future in basketball beyond NDSU. Medical school is a heck of a commitment and there is a long...
Not diminishing X's & O's but I truly believe that is becoming less and less important in college basketball. I think getting buy-in from the players especially in the semi-transient level that the...
This past summer there was a video posted on the GoBison board of an interview with Miles, Phillips and Richman after a golf outing. Go back and watch that video ... watch how charismatic and...
