It's so obvious that none of you umpire baseball. If you did, you would wholeheartedly agree with me. Aluminum bats are dangerous to defensive players, especially pitchers. Their skill level is not up to the task of handling or reacting to a rocket off the bat. I've seen pitchers knocked to the ground with noses shattered and teeth knocked out. Even with the restrictions placed on bats such as length to weight ratio, ball exit speed, (there are more) that state associations have put in place to protect players, it's still a dangerous game.

No one in the world goes to a high school or college baseball game to see dudes hit dingers.

Can't remember where I heard it, but isn't there also a correlation between aluminum bats and young pitchers injuring their throwing elbows with the number of breaking balls that they throw when facing aluminum bats???

It's not all about weight length ratios when considering ball exit speed. You need to use a lightweight material to fill the core and dampen the ball exit speed to equal that of a wood bat's. I did a research project on this in the late 90's actually, and to this day wished I would have pursued a patent on the solid core composite aluminum bat.

Dominic being NDSU #1 RB is pretty special, I think sky's the limit for this guy and he's ONLY a sophomore

Re: 2020 Verbal: Dominic Gonnella
can someone show us what's up with Gonella? someone said he has ankle surgery and was done.
I talked to his dad yesterday, but didn't ask, but i'd assume he wouldn't fly all the way from Philly if Dom was done for the year.. anyone? I dont see anything in our media notes at work.

his dad is philly born & bred... don't talk about Vikings/Eagles NFC title game w us

Re: 2020 Verbal: Dominic Gonnella
So why would he fly from Philly if he doesn’t live there? Like already stated, they live in Tampa and have a place in Fargo. Where he was born and bred doesn’t apply at all.

Maybe he just didn’t want you to know where he lives bro.
U know. Like everyone else (and their grandmas) you meet.

So you asked if Dom is playing? Or didn't ask if he is going to play. Because it sounds like to me you have no clue.
-
Re: 2020 Verbal: Dominic Gonnella
I didn't ask his dad.
A former player said last night "Dom COULD return this friday or frisco"
-
Re: 2020 Verbal: Dominic Gonnella
Entz didn't mention it today but I COULD play this Friday or in Frisco. Or next year. Or in my backyard with the kids. Definitely maybe could happen.

CAS just mentioned in another thread that William's did not look sharp the other night and I agree.
The "hot hand" is such a real thing in football.
Maybe he was dinged up or not feeling well or whatever.
And, who knows, maybe Hunter will off kilter in Frisco.
So luxurious to have so many available in the stable.

3 weeks to get healthy if Williams was dinged up. He at least has been seeing live game action and has a feel for our scheme. Dom hasn't played in months.

Re: 2020 Verbal: Dominic Gonnella
Big Year for Dominic! He is healthy and he looked quick and bigger last week.

Let's feed this kid, get him some swing passes out of the backfield when Zona blitzes.. #HouseCall

USF has won one, solitary FBS game in the past three seasons. Think about that. Just one. Have fun.

I have relatives in So. FLA and get there fairly regularly. Whenever I can, I get my ass down to Key West. The rest of the state is just awful. I'd rather live just about anywhere else in the US than Florida.
