And a RB always wants a good OL in front of him, so Gates brought a friend with to visit Fargo -
Brady Petersen - 6’ 5” 270 - OL - Ankeny IA (Ankeny Centennial).
Petersen has offers from Akron, Arkansas State, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, Toledo, South Dakota.

Why have the Bison been targeting smaller RB's as of late? I personally would look for the next Bruce Anderson, John Crockett, Lance Dunn, and what have you...just a thought.

Agree this seems odd with the physicality of the league and how much in recent years the position has taken a beating. ( Injury wise)

I wonder if he’ll be like Weerts and we are still into the running? I’d say he has a pretty good offer list already.

What are you talking about, Dunn is 5’9 and was pegged as a smaller back coming into NDSU. Bringing an athlete in for an unofficial visit doesn’t equate to targeting him.
They have a big bruiser in Saybien and Coffield who also was pegged as a smaller back is over 200lbs.
And they targeted Russell and Hull last year and missed out late in the process.
Trust the recruiters and the strength and conditioning coaches.

I agree. People get so caught up in size it is ridiculous. Most of the great all time RBs in the NFL were under six feet. Quite a few of them were right at Dunn's size for height and weight. Being slightly shorter allows for quicker cutting for the most part. Ryan Smith is the exact size of this back when they brought him in. If he is a great athlete we will find him a spot.
