This em dude is out in left Field
Like listing to a guy from overly or something
Em clearly subscribes to the agenda that @awefulwhiteqbs expounds. Explains quite a bit of his analysis of Carson and the Bison when facing teams with dual threat qbs. After reading through their twitter feed, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the negative press about Wentz is based on people believing in this crap and having a similar bias.
Pretty pathetic stuff, don't think I'm going to care or watch what this guy has to say anymore.
There sure are a lot of people who are either supporters of FCS football or supporters of their FCS school talking a lot of baseless crap about CW. I don't get it. I get that people hate NDSU, but every draft pick for a FCS player is a win for the entire subdivision. Every slot ahead of their projection is even a bigger win for FCS. That means NFL scouts are watching and makes recruiting for the entire level a little bit easier. The coaches can go to a recruit and say X amount of FCS athletes are getting drafted. X amount from our program are getting invites to camps. We get scouts to our games and if you noticed, there are these FCS athletes being picked ahead of their FBS counterparts across the board. It does nothing to be negative for the sake of being negative because you don't like a program. In fact, I don't even subscribe to the idea that some players are destined for failure because they come from a certain program. Like saying Alabama RBs haven't performed at the NFL level because they come from Alabama is ludicrous. It was coincidental. But, even those who want to use that line of thinking, I can't think of many who have come out of NDSU who have ended up being disappointments. There is already a track record of NDSU football players in the NFL being very positive.
The bottom line is there are too many who say they are behind FCS who are now trashing FCS draft prospects like CW merely because they are not from their favorite FCS program. This isn't a time to get all parochial about FCS talent but to trumpet all of them to showcase the talent at this level. This super criticism seems petty and that is counter to building the FCS brand. I am not suggesting FCS needs blind cheerleaders, but to have people start ultra-nitpicking simply because they are not FBS or because they are from a particular program when clearly their talent level is certainly at par or better is downright suspect about what their intentions really are. This is not the time to put NDSU in their place. That should be done on the field.
Found this snippet in a Dallas Cowboy fan blog:
Wentz gets some advice:
Before entering the North team's locker room after Saturday's game, Garrett waited for Carson Wentz, the Senior Bowl's top quarterback prospect. Garrett told the potential first-round pick that he did a good job in his quarter of play.
Wentz started for the North and completed 6 of 10 passes for 50 yards.
What's the best piece of advice Wentz received from the Cowboys coaching staff?
"Just be myself," Wentz said. "That's what they said, and that's what I tried to do coming in. I tried not to let all of this distract me from the mission."
