NDSU commit Isaac Huber
Quote:
Edgeley-Kulm's Isaac Huber has the top times in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs for this week's North Dakota Class B boys state track and field meet in Bismarck.
https://www.inforum.com/sports/track...es-him-to-NDSU
Quote:
Huber enters the state track meet with the best 800, 1,600 and 3,200 seed time in the state, regardless of class. His 800 seed time is 1 minute, 55.76 seconds, his 1,600 is 4:17.72 and his 3,200 is 9:13.71. He's almost five seconds faster than anyone in Class B in the 800, almost six seconds faster than anyone in Class B in the 1,600 and just about 23 seconds faster than anyone in Class B in the 3,200.

Edgeley-Kulm’s Isaac Huber sets 1600 meter record:
https://www.inforum.com/sports/13512...0-meter-record
Quote:
Huber was oblivious to the cold, wind and rain that lashed the MDU Resources Community Bowl Friday and did indeed get the Class B 1,600-meter record he was chasing. Huber’s time of 4 minutes, 17.58 seconds eclipsed the old mark of 4:18.05 set in 2015 by Elliott Stone of Shiloh Christian.

Wahpeton’s Josh Darwin aiming for state high jump record
https://www.inforum.com/sports/track...gh-jump-record
Quote:
Darwin's career won't conclude with the state meet in Bismarck, he will be competing in the New Balance Nationals this June and will start his collegiate career with NDSU in the fall.

Josh Darwin wins state high jump at 6’ 6”
https://www.inforum.com/sports/13512...ate-track-meet
Quote:
A four-time Eastern Dakota Conference champion, Darwin captured an elusive state title in the high jump with a winning height of 6 feet, 6 inches. His winning jump was one inch higher than Williams Durocher of Century.
Darwin had been on the brink of the state's top prize every year of his high school career, but couldn't quite get over the hump. He tied for second in 2017 and 2018 and placed third as a freshman in 2016.
“It’s a big relief," he said. "It was a big load off my back.”
After securing the state title, Darwin had another goal in mind, as he lined up to attempt a state record jump of 6-11. While he wasn't able to do so Friday, the North Dakota State commit anticipates reaching that height and beyond in the future.
Don’t know if he is being recruited, but there is also this performance by Nsengiyumva Corode mentioned in the article:
Quote:
Nsengiyumva Corode had another goal in mind when he stepped up for his final leap in the triple jump at Friday's North Dakota Class A state track and field meet.
The West Fargo senior shattered both the school and state meet record in the triple jump, lunging a distance of 48 feet, 5 inches at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

2 more state titles for Isaac Huber:
https://www.inforum.com/sports/track...k-championship
Quote:
While Kindred’s team dominated, Edgeley-Kulm’s Isaac Huber was the standout individual.
The senior picked up where he left off Friday by adding the 3,200 and the 800 to his title in the 1,600. Huber said he thought for a time about chasing a state record in the 3,200, but with the 800 still looming he backed off some and finished in 9:27.89.
“I was going to go for a record today but we went off pace and I have the 800 left, so I decided to go for the win and I don’t feel bad about my decision,” Huber said. “It’s all good.”
After winning the 800 in 1:56.13, Huber took some time to look at the crowd.
“I choked up a little bit. My high school career is over. It’s all good now. I’m happy,” he said.

Re: Track and Field / Cross Country Recruiting Thread
Doesn't get much more exciting than this!
"Little" brother, Max Otterdahl (6' 8") is going to be huge for the Bison in the next few years.

Haven't seen anything about Dawson Schroeder. Won class B shot put. Would have won class A by 3 feet too.

How much shot could a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck shot?
Looks like he had a huge throw at the regional meet a couple of weeks ago. (59' 11")
Do you know if he has been to a Bison T & F camp?
There are 2 Shot Put-Discus day camps coming up in June.
I gotta believe that Coach St. Clair would be more than a little interested in this feller.

Not a lot.
Think he started going to camp when he was a sophomore. Won state last year as well. Was under the impression he had a full ride for throwing.

Brock Lesner was at a football game last year because NDSU was recruiting his daughter for T & F as a thrower I believe. Did anything come of this? Is she coming to NDSU? Did she graduate this spring or going to be a senior this fall. I believe she is going/was going to school in Alexandria MN.

Re: Track and Field / Cross Country Recruiting Thread
There are a couple of 2021 graduates who are developing into very strong sprinters.
Calob Larson, Legacy
100- 10.78
200- 21.91
400- 48.21
Henry Collins, Shanley
100- 10.94
200- 21.87
400- 49.41
Still two years of development left for these two, what’s the chance of them being in NDSUs radar?

Per 1998Braves64 request - Hillsboro’s Reagan Baesler signing with NDSU
https://gobison.com/news/2019/11/22/...dds-three.aspx
Quote:
Baesler (Hillsboro/Central Valley HS) won four consecutive North Dakota state cross country championships in her high school career, taking the title each year from 2016-19. As a senior this fall, she also won her division at the Roy Griak Invitational. On the track, Baesler is a five-time state champion in the relays for Hillsboro/Central Valley, as well as earning individual runner-up honors three times between the 800m and 1600m.

Re: Track and Field / Cross Country Recruiting Thread
Sounds like the women signed another absolute stud thrower:
"The Bison have signed an elite thrower from Sweden -- Axelina Johansson!
Her shot put PR of 57-04.75 (17.49m) ranks her 2nd among all Swedish women since 2012. Axelina has represented Sweden at the World U20 Championships and European U20 Championships."
"That shot put mark would immediately rank Axelina among the Top 10 in the NCAA ... along with her Bison teammates Akealy Moton & Shelby Gunnells."

Kaden threw a 61' 10" (coach indicated that was #8 in country for HS) shot put the other day in mayville and 60' 1" today in Hillsboro.
State qualifier distance is a mere 46' 9" in ND.

Caleb Larson, from Bismarck Legacy High School, has signed with NDSU. He has run a 10.45 100M (.01 behind the state record set by Weston Dressler) a 21.12 200M (broke the state record of 21.44), and a 47.02 400M (broke the state record of 47.78) this year, and plans on running the 400M at NDSU. He won state titles in the 100M, 200M and 400M as a freshman and sophomore.

This is a big get for NDSU. Possibly the top ND track athlete since Roesler!

Hillsboro's Kaden Pastian blew by the Class B record by 8 feet in his discus win this afternoon. His winning throw of 192' 0" missed the overall state record by just 8 inches.

He'll be gunning for Jimmy K's class B shot put record tomorrow. He's already thrown 62'7 this year.

Rumor is he is coming to NDSU to compete in the decathlon. My guess is he will qualify for state in at least 4 or 5 of those events. I could see him throw the javelin but doubt he will throw the other two and I don't see him Pole Vaulting this season. All the running and jumping events could be fair game throughout whatever season they have this year.
Oh and he is one of the main guys on the golf team, which is also gunning for a state championship.

The decathalon is not a rumor, Paul Olson said that is what NDSU track coaches have in mind for him.

Listed as a Womens and Mens event in the Summit League but not part of the Pentalon/Decathalon.
