I'll just keep listening to other podcasts where I don't have to interrupt work to push the skip button. I'm sure they are bringing home the bacon with the ads they are playing in the 110 downloads per show that they are averaging on SoundCloud. I'd be fine with ads, sell advertising rights to someone to sponsor the insiders podcast and play their ad. I'm thinking it's more of just being lazy, taking a recording and throwing that on SoundCloud as soon as a show is done.

The "Jack Michaels Show," The Fan's one local hour (noon- 1 p.m.) in its daytime lineup, averaged 2,500 listeners. Michaels is also KFGO's sports director and calls University of North Dakota football and women's basketball games.
That made it the most popular local show during the daytime. Bison 1660's highest-rated local show was "The Insiders," hosted by North Dakota State football and men's basketball play-by-play announcer Jeff Culhane and NDSU assistant athletic director Jeremy Jorgenson, which averaged about 900 listeners 11 a.m.-1 p.m., according to Nielsen
What the what?? Yikes, not a great look 3 years in to the station. Losing to Jack Michaels??
I highly doubt the 740 numbers are accurate and that's not even a knock on a station I like. Love the new Swany show. I read an article last week that the 18-34 sample size was so small, it didnt even meet the criteria to register.
I doubt a solid station that has a long consistent track record and hasn't added any significant programming is suddenly putting up double the numbers WDAY AM used to average. There is a reason WDAY stopped using the ratings systems. Its flawed and in the era of streaming media, it's even more difficult to measure. How many people still listen to live radio? It's all podcasts or streams on my phone or on my computer at work. Soundcloud by itself shows 4k listens per week. That's the new norm in media
But either way, Bison 1660 will never do well in the ratings unless they get a bigger radio footprint and get rid of all the syndicated stuff. It's just not a station you keep locked in with Cowherd, Dan Patrick, and Doug Gotlieb.. And having womens basketball games airing the same time as mens basketball is terrible for ratings too. Next ratings period will be even worse because there is no football or basketball in the spring
But that being said, in the last year, they have 2 of the 3 highest numbers on that stations history going back a decade.
I would assume they did well on football game days. Last ratings period it was the biggest station in Fargo on football gamedays.
there is absolutely no way Kermit the Frog (JM) gets 2500 listeners over noon hour, none zero. I'm sorry but he is not a good radio show guy IMO, his rambling about non issue items and puns are just terrible. Now I also am not saying that The insiders is beating them as a channel that is lead by Homers is only going to draw homers, I really think 1660 needs a show that covers more than Just solid NDSU but that would not fit the stations I know. If they are happy with their current numbers leave it, if not make an adjustment.
Does listening to podcasts add in here somewhere?
Or that the content broadcasts on Am and FM?
