Re: Maine @ Eastern Washington
If you think you are at a snails pace...I mean at least you guys put up an indoor stadium.
Try coming to Orono, Maine sometime in the cold for a football game...
We have made great strides but it about time the State stepped in and did more for UMAINE athletics...
We have a great Coach right now, but will he get a necessary raise so we can keep him...I can only pray they do...

Eh. no worries. You're a hockey school. We have one of those to the north.

The difference is they don't make the playoffs let alone the semis.
Re: Maine @ Eastern Washington
We have our ups and downs. We used to be a hockey school when Shawn Walsh was Coach...now were somewhat mediocre....we used to be a Baseball school when John Winkin was Coach and go to the World Series a lot of the time...Now we are a football school and I do expect you are going to hear a lot more about our football program going forward.
Maine is experiencing some growing pains a bit as every University does...a great place to go to school but somewhat underfunded by the State...we are the only Division 1 program in the State..

Curious, if it had to do with money...how did you manage to get an indoor stadium financed..

It's owned by the city. Sales tax. It's a municipal arena leased by NDSU.

Fargo has a metro population of 238,000 people. Even in 1987 when the building was first proposed, it was probably 150k. It's the largest city between Minneapolis and Seattle.
The building was not built solely as a football stadium. That's probably the difference. it was built at a bargain of $50 million. SDSU got an open air stadium for $65 million. They can't get anyone there when the weather is off.

I don’t want to win 15 of the next 20. I want to win them all.
