NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
The final meet of the season begins today on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin.
The weather has caused a delay and the start times have been adjusted.
Bison Men Competing Today
At 2:00 PM CST, Alex Talley will compete in the HAMMER THROW.
He is the #21 seed and will throw in Flight #1.
At 4:15, Brenden Artely will throw the JAVELIN.
He comes into today's competition as the #22 seed and will also be in the first flight.
The Men's SHOT PUT is scheduled to get underway at 6:40 PM. Three Bison men will be competing in the elite flight (#2). No other school in the nation has 3 athletes in the final flight of this event.
1) Payton Otterdahl: #2 seed.
2) Kristopher Thomsen: #13 seed.
3) Alex Talley: #16 seed.
Despite being seeded less than number 12, Thomsen and Talley earned the final flight positions because of the results of the East & West Regional meets.
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
No Bison women will be competing today.
Bailey Retzlaff will compete in the HAMMER THROW tomorrow (Thursday), and Akealy Moton will throw both the JAVELIN and the SHOT PUT. (also tomorrow)
The HEPTAHLON starts on Friday and finishes on Saturday. Amada Levin will represent NDSU in that event.

Go Bison Track and Field. Show the country your horns!!!
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
The weather in Austin is ideal for seeing excellent performances today. 88 degrees and a light breeze of 4 mph. Humidity is at 52%.
The first event on the track today was the Men's 4 X 100 Meter Relay Prelims.
A staggering number of teams (12) ran season best times and 18 schools went under 40.00 seconds!!*
*40.00 is the NDSU school record and a great benchmark for labeling a 400 Meter Relay as "elite".
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
Alex finishes 22nd in the HAMMER THROW (209' 4").
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
Meet record in the 110 High Hurdles.
Daniel Roberts from Kentucky ran a blistering 13.06 in the prelims.....only .06 from the college record set by the great Renaldo Nehemiah way back in 1979.
17 guys went under 14.00.....Another benchmark that puts someone the "really elite" category.
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
Brenden Artley finishes the JAVELIN with a best throw of 195' 5"
He will not make the finals.
He's only a Freshman, so his career is off to a good start.
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
Some blazing speeds in the Men's 100 Meter prelims.
3 guys went under 10 flat and 17 athletes clocked in under 10.20.
Incredible that a guy runs 10.03 and DOESN'T make the finals!
Re: NCAA Men's & Women's 2019 Outdoor Championships
Pathetic looking attendance for these championships. The NCAA Div.1 T&F championships have world class, elite athletes, the competition is fierce.....and noone cares. It's also a steal in terms of ticket prices. If you get the chance to go, go for it.
