Re: 2018 Summit League Recruiting
South Dakota with a good get - 6’ 6” 195 Sam Griesel - Lincoln (NB) East.
Had a NDSU offer at one time, after the Jaxon Knotek verbal don’t know if he still did.
https://www.google.com/amp/journalst...3d822.amp.html
Quote:
Griesel ended his college basketball recruitment Monday by committing to South Dakota after also taking official visits to Omaha, North Dakota State and South Dakota State. He also had offers from Drake, Dartmouth and Presbyterian.

Re: 2018 Summit League Recruiting
Looks like South Dakota previously received a verbal from a 6’ 1” PG/SG from Oklahoma, Tauriawn Knight.
Had an offer from Charleston Southern and D2 schools. His scouting report:
Quote:
Knight is a Point Guard with a skill set that allows him to thrive at both the Point Guard spot or to play off the ball.
He has a solid handle with good court vision and crisp passes. As a scorer Knight dominates defenders getting to the rim and finishing strong. Another thing that puts Knight in a notch above others is the tenacity he plays with on the defensive end. Knight seems to come away with a few steals each game.

Re: 2018 Summit League Recruiting
UND commit Jal Bijiek signs NLI. Choose UND over offers from LSU, OKlahoma, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Witchita St, and about 4 other D1 schools. Talk about gaining momentum from an NCAA tournament appearance. Rumor is they have about 2 maybe 3 more guys seriously considering spurning big time offers and joining him too. Is UND an Adidas school or Nike?

It is due mainly to their talented head coach Brian Jones. Yes the same one most of their fans have been trying to run out the door for a couple of years. This recruit does seem legit and I guess he really likes to watch Hockie.

Re: 2018 Summit League Recruiting
More potential South Dakota Coyote Coaching change ramifications:
Quote:
Lincoln East's Sam Griesel given permission by South Dakota to contact other schools
Griesel initially chose South Dakota over scholarship offers from UNO, North Dakota State and Drake. Those three along with South Dakota State, Northern Iowa and Utah State are schools expected to be in the mix for Griesel's services, who also noted that South Dakota is still an option.
The 6’ 5” Griesel signed with South Dakota during the early signing period.

Re: 2018 Summit League Recruiting
Omaha adds 2 transfers, including 6’ 8” Logan Strom, who was also widely recruited for football (Wyoming, Cincinnati included). He redshirted at UC Davis this season, so will have to sit out a season and then have 3 years eligibility. Also had an offer from the Jackrabbits in basketball, plus South Dakota, Fighting Hawks, Indiana State and others.

Also added 6’ 9” Brett Barney from Wichita State, who is eligible immediately.

SDSU lands Caleb Grill. Unreal how they are recruiting. Grill very well may be the most talented player in the Summit the minute he steps on campus.

Been a weird year for recruiting around here. UND got Jal Bijiek, who had standing offers from Oklahoma and Wichita State, among many others.
Makes the Summit League that much stronger and fun to watch.
