A sizable donation would be great for NDSU, especially in these financially challenging times.

It's College of Business:
"Today, I’m pleased to share that, once again, benefactors are stepping forward with their belief and confidence in NDSU. Today we will gather in Richard H. Barry Hall to celebrate the naming – and launch – of a new interdisciplinary research institute, the Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth. With initial funding of more than $30 million coming entirely through philanthropic support, the institute’s mission will galvanize the university’s relevance on the global stage in areas of economic growth, trade and innovation and how these areas advance human potential.
The Challey Institute will support the hiring of 15 tenure-track/tenured faculty members, more than 20 doctoral and master’s seeking students annually, and numerous other programs and activities focused on advancing the institute’s mission. Over time, we will pursue a goal of raising $50 million in private gifts to support the institute."

The Challey's have been very supportive of NDSU in the past. They dumped a bunch of money in the music dept a few years back for scholarships and other things.

It means we get stable funding for 15 professors and 20 grad students independent of funding from the fickle State of ND Legislature. Provides a lot of flexibility for the University to do research and expand class offerings not just in the College of Business, but University wide. This ground breaking type of ciriculum will boost both enrollment and University prestige. Expect more to follow.
