Thank goodness they have joose for that.

MV and FCS does not do itself any service by not recognizing its star players based on circumstances vs stats. They over sell crap and undersell quality. No wonder FCS is considered lower class in NFL scout reports.
Re: 2018 MVFC Preseason Poll and All-Conference Teams
STATS FCS All-American team is out.
Easton Stick is 2nd Team QB, SDSU QB Taryn Christian did not make 1st team QB - that was senior Devlin Hodges from Samford

RB Bruuuuce Anderson & S Robbie Grimsley are on the 1st team.
QB Stick, OL Tanner Volson and DE Greg Menard are on the 2nd Team.
Junior OL Zack Johnson and sophomore LB Jabril Cox are on the 3rd team

He had to have meant FCS in both cases.

Always wonder how much consideration they take when Hodges plays vmi, wcu, citadel and Chattanooga vs playing a valley schedule.
Probably none. If Hodges was a top fcs qb, samford would be a final 8 team but they aren't
Re: 2018 MVFC Preseason Poll and All-Conference Teams
Here's the preseason all-conference defensive teams:

NDSU leads the way again with 4 first teamers (Mendard, Steidl, Cox, and Grimsley) and is tied with Indiana St (who had 5 guys on the 2nd team) of all teams with 5 players represented overall (Tuzska was second team DL). 3 of the 4 starting D-line made the list and it couldn't been all 4 as Caleb Butler arguably was snubbed.

I would guess that the defense was young last year and they were on the field A LOT so they had ample opportunity to rack up gaudy tackle numbers. A guy on AGS said their two 2nd team LBs are the 2nd and 3rd returning leading tacklers in the conference. I would guess that an average NDSU defender sees about half the snaps of the average ISUb defender on the year since ISUb has less depth to work with and a lot more defensive snaps to play each game.
