Top 25 per Sagarin. Really, there is NDSU and everyone else. No one even in spitting distance.

You missed UND at 40.
Three of the top five in the STATS poll are MVFC. We absolutely crushed UNI, they're at #5 this week. With a better game plan against SDSU, that game as well, IMO, would have been a blowout. Just how steep is the dropoff after the mighty, mighty Bison? We only beat ourselves this year, and the next, and the next...rinse, repeat.
I've noticed that this guy hasn't posted his poll ballot on Twitter since week 5 when he moved JMU over NDSU for the #1 spot "by a razor thin margin" because of their "dominating ground performance against Elon": https://twitter.com/DLSmith93/status...65204943933440
Yes, you saw that right. He has #GoDukes on his twitter profile.
It kinda does matter as these polls can have fairly large implications in any given year. I’ve also assumed the JMU voter is that same individual, in which case I think he could/should defend his poll.
Almost nobody is completely free of bias, but he isn’t doing a great job of appearing to be a neutral voter. I can’t think there could be many logical explanations for JMU at #1 right now. The “hung with WV and beat them in the trenches” argument isn’t aging well. Luckily the STATS poll has a decent sample size of voters to help wash out any one individual’s skewed voting.
JMU fans/reporters really should not mentioned the WVU game being that the Mountaineers are 3-5 and are ranked (#61) closer to JMU (#74) in the Sagarin Ratings than they are to NDSU (#37).
Looking at their schedule, I'm not sure they can complain about being ranked #2. Their closest victory was an overtime win over Stony Brook, who are currently ranked #158 in the Sagarin Ratings (Villanova is their highest rated opponent at #131). NDSU has victories over six teams with better current Sagarin Ratings than Stony Brook (UND-#150, UC Davis-#130, Illinois State-#126, Northern Iowa-#103, South Dakota State-#80, Youngstown State-#137), or four victories over teams ranked higher than Villanova.
