Metz's twitter handle is @brandonbison48...so unless he has a second last name, sounds like a pretty good chance he will be playing at NDSU lulz

Appears to be quite the badass. Here is video from "Rumble on the Red" where he defeats Oakes's Michael Kelley in overtime.

Here he is at a lean 220 (summer after his freshman year) coming from behind (4-3) to some kid from Illinois to slam and pin him with 34 seconds to go to win the national title in Greco-Roman in his class
MAMA LUCIA!!! (Slicky.................YALTO) look at that vastus lateralis (outer quad). He looks mean as hell in this photo.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
I am also aware that Zach Willis from WF is getting some interest from NDSU. I have no idea how big the kid is now, but i know he is a beast. With he and Metz on the line next year for the Packers they should be tough.
I know that Willis is also visiting but am unsure of the date.
-
Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
Metz is ranked pretty high in wrestling.
For those in the know, is he going to wrestle in college?

From the roster last fall:
Zach Willis - 6' 5" 280 - OL/DL
Brandon Metz - 6' 2" 250 - OL/DL

Dang it, his left hand is covering up my face in that picture. Explains why the camera didn't break (wishful purple?).

Packers will be favorite to win the Title this year. Have most of their squad back from last year. Willis is a kid that will probably be around 290-295 this year. Very strong kid that definitely has potential to play at NDSU.
I am guessing Metz is being recruited on defense. He is super quick for his size.

I trust the coaches sign these guys up in the very near future

Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
We are getting close to really getting that generation of local kids that grew up with massive NDSU success. Success breeds success.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
What about the kid from Carson Wentz's high school. Super athletic kid from Bismark Century. I forgot his name. I'll look it up............Zach Sweep Wow, what a football name for a running back.
http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndFiel...ID=5397326#/L0 State high hurdles champ at a very nice time.
http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/zach...Jg/default.htm Fourth ranked player in the state.
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1722609/zach-sweep I would project him as a possession receiver in our west coast offense. I would expect dynamite in the RAC stat column. Could be Zach Vraa, only bigger, stronger, better RAC. Nah, nobody makes catches like Zach Vraa.
Why wouldn't he be one of the first guys they go after?
And by the way....they won the state championship. Kid might like find he likes winning. We all know where prospects go to win football games and championships.

Uh Oh, Sorry, I thought he was a junior. He signed with the Gophers. How the hell did that happen?

He signed with the MSUM Dragons, not the Gophers.

Willis had an unofficial on March 4th. He's about 290 right now and is dropping since track started. Metz is an absolute beast on the defensive line. Very quick for his size and his motor doesn't stop.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
Interesting recruiting area, wonder what, if any, the connection was?
Also interesting to me, Uhrich has a Coastal Carolina offer (going D1)
Coastal Carolina has an offer to another QB, one with an interesting name.
Alstott

Griffin Alstott: a 6'2 195lb Dual-threat from St. Petersburg, Florida...
And yes he is the son of former NFL great, Mike Alstott

And another QB prospect more from our neck of the woods (great name)

You guys do realize that some of these kids might be the ones initiating the contact, right? His connection might be him seeing us play CCU, or some other publicity we've received. We might be seeing the results of Wentz's exposure already...

Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
Heavy on QB offers. Another one out to Peyton Mansell out of Texas.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Updates
I like the early recruiting of QB's, especially talented ones and this year specifically. Of course assuming Stick is the man for the next three years, if the QB from this class is head and shoulders above the ones already in the program, he would have the reigns for three years as well. Hope they land a big target and the kid stays true to his verbal. Also, QB recruit is one that can help bring in others, as it should show his true leadership qualities/abilities.

Yep, makes sense with the draft hype hitting a crescendo over the next 6 weeks. Take a stab and offer some high QB targets and let ESPN and NFL Network do your recruit marketing for you.

Hopfully Joe Glenn informed him on how this recruiting thing works.
If I remember right it was Joe that said NDSU goes and gets who they want then the rest of us can recruit the rest.

Let's see...we are going to have a QB get drafted in the first round. I would think as a QB you would be very interested in NDSU no matter where you live.

Ummm maybe a little....if we had a tradition of putting QBs in the NFL on a consistent basis, then yes I would agree with you completely.

When pocket passing QB's see how much NDSU's offense resembles a NFL offense and how that is helping Carson's stock along with his immense talents, the Bison will be piquing their interest a little more in the near future. With that said, I have a feeling we're set at QB for quite awhile with Stick and Van Dellen.

Probably, but championship teams can never rest on their laurels. One injury... (Arden Beachy...)

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. 2008 and 2009.
