I think all our women's sports are already fully funded so what sport do you propose we add? Add on start up costs for that sport, facilities, coaching salaries, travel.....and that is not even addressing the cost of a stadium.
And no, a big fundraising thermometer in front of the SHAC is not gonna cut it.
Lakes.. I mean El Chapos investment fund which shorted Warren Buffett...

Anybody who thinks the QUAD time national champion cannot find a home in one of the 4 lower level conferences, especially when all conferences are looking to expand, is an idiot.
After we have success dominating that conference and have a new 30,000 + seat stadium, then we try to join the MWC--the top non Big Five Conference. At this time, NDSU can probably join as a full fledged member--not just football only. After sustained success in the MWC, then we can realistically look at joining the Big 12 or even the Big 10 (which at this time will probably have 20 to 24 teams.)
Questions? :)

1) increase ticket prices for football by 30%. Since demand exceeds supply this will be no problem.
2) increase teammakers' donations by 15%.
3) increase our TV and radio revenue by 50%. Our contracts with KVLY and KFGO are a joke. We are a regional brand. Not a ND brand.
4) our share of our new conference tv contract should also offset many of our expenses.
5) Revenue from our 1 to 2 Big 5 conference away games.

Why not add a vice tax on all tobacco products? How bout we add video gaming machines in the dome?
Re: A new and better FBS thread
1. it'll increase by more than 30% when grandpa's sitting in row 3 40 yard line pay $200 for 6 game tickets into $1200 for 6 games
2. $2.4 million into $10 million is 400%
3. TV/Radio should triple, and ADD FOX SPORTS NORTH... and BARTER out 10 Commercials/per game at $1000/game.
4. MWC/MAC TV contracts give $750000-$1 per university
5. Absolutely

Please supply a source for your ticket figures ? When we get that straightened out we can work on the rest of your misinformation.

Anyone else notice how all of these great suggestions on how to finance all this shit involves someone else (for example people who are actually TM members) footing the bill???

Also, I don't think it would be wise to increase prices like this at this time. I am not so sure we have the perceived demand that would tolerate these added costs to going to watch a football game. Were we not just earlier this week talking about some people 'getting bored' with watching NDSU football (whether it's the students, or season ticket holders, or whatever) and I personally noticed empty seats throughout the dome last weekend, not just the students...and GA tickets have gone unsold last week it seems. Not necessarily saying this is gonna be a trend.
However, when we have football seasons not as successful as the previous three have been, it's just possible that the demand will decrease...maybe even abruptly. In fact, we might even wish that we hadn't kicked all those 'grandpas and grandmas' out of the dome to make room for the 'high-rollers' paying the big bucks...cause they might just jump off the bandwagon.
With things like student ticket allotment, season ticket holders, teammaker dues, and things such as these we should make any changes very carefully IMO.

You are only adding approx 40.00 to youre season tickets. Or 6.66666666 a game. Still cheap as high profile tickets go for. It would add what 3/4 of a million in revenue. Still a very long way to what is needed.
And yes there were many many seats empty through the whole dome.
