Withers is grade A garbage as a coach. He was Minnesota's DC in 2007 when Tyler Roehl and company beat them like a rented mule. He perennially underachieved as the HC at JMU to the point where his predecessor didn't lose a game to an FCS competitor (with Withers' recruits) until his 28th game against an FCS game (which was a damn fun game :)). The fact that he is still a head coach, or even a DC, at this point is mind-boggling. He must be one hell of a salesman to recruit the talent he did at JMU and to keep getting hired at new schools after he's ran off elsewhere (and to impress the almighty Coach Brew enough go make him his DC back in '07).
