You would be wrong as they were very forward thinking in many respects. As a matter of fact the bitchers were way behind the curve.

My understanding is the holder of the liquor license can control the charity as in the case at the Holiday. New ownership took over in December and Teammakers has been on notice they would not be the charity operating the gaming. Many of the personal from teammakers have been offered to stay on once Epic Charities works through the state issue.
While Rob is correct in that Epic Charities gaming license was not renewed, they are like a majority of ND charities are not in compliance with ND law. AG's office indicated noncompliance is commonplace and the similar AG action is forthcoming. Rob makes an issue with the correlation being Epic Charities and money spent is at an EPIC development in West Fargo. This was the agreement with the city of West Fargo and the Plaza at the lights is a city of West Fargo or West Fargo Parks property. Epic charities maintains the property and makes it available to the public. Again, not noted in Rob's article, over 30,000 skaters skated at the plaza last winter for free. The cost of rink upkeep and staffing is funded though Epic Charities. That is just one of many programs at the lights that are free. Yoga daily is available in the summer is another.
Funding for various events in west Fargo, Cruise night, We Fest came from the same source. So the fact no charitable component does not exist isn't accurate.
As for the plans for the Holiday Inn gaming, I don't know where those dollars will go. But Epic Charities has provided benefit for thousands in the West Fargo community. I do give Rob credit, he at least researches his articles, and what he stated was correct, but there is much more to the story he did not put or have access too.
WHAT!!! that was a GREAT spot for NDSU over the years, lots of eyeballs came thru Holiday Inn by out of towners... and I had many many conversations with them about NDSU because they saw it there first.
bummer man. (plus it was 2 blocks from my office and i wish i had all the money i spent there)
Are we supposed to get a TM statement confirming portion of donation that is/maybe tax deductible?
I’m kind of behind these days… Looks like I’m supposed to be paying for my season tickets by 1 April.
Are the prices the same as last year… time for me to start reading I guess.
