Just thinking in fantasyland here for a moment. But dont think tis crazy to say that Scheels has outgrown its current location... maybe they build around here, maybe even if it was just a team store outlet, get an apartment or two, a 50yd turf field, a couple sports bars (herd n horns moves or 2nd location, or something completely new), I'm certain you could woo a brewery to set up shop there, maybe have a gathering area for events and such. Of course it costs 10s maybe 100s of millions of dollars, but It think there is legitimate $$ to be made with an idea like this. It butts up right against tailgaiting, which is ideal for my wife and much younger children compared to trying to push a stroller through the lots and cut up hot dogs for your kids lol.
A place like Scheels doesn't necessarily have to open a huge store either. Any warm restaurant within walking distance would improve the experience. Heck we could even make it alcohol free on Gameday to promote a family atmosphere if we want to. I would want beer sales but not at the expense of the project. It could be like the g rated lot. Finding a hotel would be easy. It's within walking distance of the dome and a hotel will build a restaurant
I like the idea of the sliding hill because it's just another cool amenity for students and the community. People like sledding hills and Ice Skating. More amenities can attract more students and more people to games, especially the non revenue sports. Outdoor track, softball, soccer and baseball draw so few fans, something like this can't be anything but positive. When kids get out and have fun, it makes it more of event.
But football would be nuts. It would nice to have a televised playoff game where they show people ice skating and sledding as opposed to they typical espn into of "were coming to you live from Fargo where it's so cold outside, you will die. You don't want to live here. But it's hot inside the dome."

I envision the the Bison title town with airport level security complete with full body cavity searches and a passport to enter.
Skating and sledding might be a little too cold for some late season games, but it would be for all sports and the general public year round. But the indoor gathering area would be awesome for those games

Can't imagine building a new store is in the works very soon since they just spent a couple million remodeling the Fargo store.
