Wow and we were told that the reserved spot thing would never work.

There are 100 spots in the over flow correct?
We have been on the list forever for reserved spots.

Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
So more people in the reserved line? Might be time to start thinking about opening up a second entrance into the tailgate lot for those that have reserved passes. It was already a shitshow early in the season.

Yes. There should be separate lines for the east and west lots.

Can’t imagine there wont be. Isn’t there a north west entrance also?

yes, but no way they line people up on 19th AVE
it would help a shitload to use the South and middle entrance, but then again people wont understand how to get in line that way...plus it makes sense so it wont happen

Or....We could be adults and just open the lots on gamedays at 6:00 AM regardless of kickoff time. To make it even easier we could sell "Premium" spots so that those with large rigs from out of town can arrive the night before after 5:00pm. . Quiet hours start at 10:00 pm, and are strictly enforced. Premium fees should more than pay for a rent a cop for the night.

Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
Good change. Hopefully they allow people in lot GS to enter from the south so that lineup in the south lot of the Fargodome doesn't have to be so ridiculous.
Also, I hope they shift some of GS back to GA in the playoffs when there's always a ton of unsold reserved spots. If not, it'll be a ghost town in GN and GS.

general tailgaters have all the options in the world to buy the reserved spots during playoffs

I agree it's a good change but they are so clueless when it comes to getting everyone in. If we thought it was bad since they did half the GA to reserved, next year it's going to take 45 minutes to get everyone in. Seems stupid to not have 2 separate entrances. (actually should be 3 with the GA spots). North half, south half, and GA.
How about the north half lines up down 19th Ave and the south half lines up like they do now on the south end of the dome. Then have a 3rd line for GA which is the same. Although that could create a traffic problem on 19th if people try to line up early and block the candlewood

There is NO WAY there will EVER be a line on 19th, but just splitting South and middle would help a ton

It already takes 45 minutes if not longer early in the season. They'll never lineup on 19th but that old GA enterance needs to be a second reserved entrance, no reason to not to do it with the change.

Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
Honestly if they just let people with big rigs come in early and get situated it would alleviate a ton of the congestion during the rush but that would be too easy.

That wouldn't work. Define 'big rigs.' That and nearly all of them have their set up and 2-3 cars that they wouldn't dare not bring with them.

A bus or a large trailer, anything that is cumbersome to position. If you have cars, they can wait.
-
Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
That or you could make it really easy and just open the lot at 6 AM. People could funnel in instead of having a big rush.

this, i know i wouldnt be there any earlier, i would love to have a window to enter. miss the old days where we would get up, get ready and roll right in no sitting, but yet like the reserved spots so you always are in the same place

Yep, but why do it when it costs $20 per spot and you can get GA spots for $5 per spot? The value of reserved spots in the regular season is not having to go sit in line super early or the night before to get spots. You don't have to worry about that in the playoffs because not nearly as many people line up for the GA area. We have reserved spots in the regular season and ditch them in the playoffs for GA spots and it saves us $100 a game. The supply and demand argument is a two-way street. If they say that they're reserving the entire F and G lots for the regular season because of demand so be it. That also means they can open up part of those lots for GA in the playoffs because of (lack of) demand. If they don't so be it. We'll either tailgate in NQ, pay the extra to get reserved spots, or pre-game somewhere other than the tailgate lot.
-
Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
I wish reaerved tailgators would sell there spots more often if they cant go. They even give you seperate passes for each game to make it easy to do this.

I tried last year on the NDSU page, hits I got tried to lowball me the price and I said piss off, if im going to lose most of the money anyways may as well not take the risk of some dick causing a mess and disaster in my spots
-
Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
was only a matter of time once they secured NQ for GA last year. anyone that didn't see this coming was BLIND. I second the N and S lines...I got drunk waiting to get INTO tailgating for the Semi Final last year

It's closer than the lot was at the playoff game at Montana State and everyone had a blast there.

Re: 2019 FB Tailgate Thread
your examples dont count , as a matter of fact you prove my point!
being in NQ will take the NDSU tailgating experience away from 1st timers or people that can only make a game or 2.
plus you will feel isolated and not even feel the "vibe" or "buzz"

We're moving toward the "bigtime" Chapo, my friend, you know that. Hell, you're the champion of that concept.
Being by the "vibe" or the "buzz" costs money. No more free lunch with a $5 bill to get next to a $20 "buzz".

People in the new lot need to make it into an experience. This shows the admin is willing to accomodate more people, time for people to step up.
