They used Waege a little at DT last year (as well as Caleb Butler), especially in pass rush situations. He doesn't have the weight to be a full time defensive tackle now.

It was a surprise when Noland's name was tweeted out as a member of this year's recruiting class. The Bison do take transfers (even though some online NDSU fans seem to think otherwise), but it's maybe one or two a year to fill some depth spots or special teams roles.*

I agree with MT here. Waege is absolutely a great option for passing downs DT but he needs to be in there at DE first string primarily. Would love to see one of Pierce, McCormick, or Ogbu step up this year as at least a pass rush specialist so we can toss out Karcz and Waege at DT and slide in one of the mentioned opposite of Tuszka. Man we had an amazing DL last year. Menard, Tuszka, Butler, Waege, Jones, Steidl, Williams, and Karcz, and Darnell...Disgusting. Look at it. Would you just look at it?
An interesting note from the Dom Izzo piece last night was that at center he said we had 2 good young options at Center in Nash Jensen and Joe Schreiber. I mentioned my excitement for Joe as the future C but I found it interesting that Schoenning wasn't mentioned as the expected starter since he received, I believe, the vast majority of snaps last year as the backup C. Also thought that Nash was locked in at Guard since he had good potential but it is also a paltry depth chart at the position now.

What other positions did Noah Sanders play in high school? Just wondering what position he might move to if he moves. 6'3 and 220 and supposedly a good athlete.

gobison bio says he punted in high school but does not say anything else about non-quarterback play.

I am guessing Dom made a mistake when he mentioned Nash Jensen as a center. Last year, Chris Klieman said Nash was the probable 2019 starter at right guard. And Nash is listed as a guard on the official roster.
