We can have all the super stud, number one receivers in the World, however, they're not going to have Madden-like numbers due to the fact we don't throw the ball much (20-25 times a game) and half the passes seem to go to TEs and RBs. If Urzendowski, or any other of our WRs like Vraa, played in a system like SDSU, their numbers would be huge and we would be wondering why we didn't get recruits like them. Our WRs are not the issue for big receiving numbers, it's our system. Being that we win with our system, is there really a problem - no.
In regards to WR being a weakness next year, I'm not worried. Lots of young studs on the team.

Justify it however you want, it’s a weakness of NDSU, hence the thread title.

If you're not using something to its full capacity because it's not an important part of your arsenal to being successful, how is it a weakness? It's very similar to how you F'Hawkers use your brains, except for the part of being successful.

I think this is the difference between our respective programs. That kid is a fucking winner. He wins games.
This isn't the Big Sky, you don't need more than a complimentary WR to win.

Without him, I don't think the Bison win the National Championship his freshman year, let alone get there. His chemistry with Wentz that playoff season was awesome.

He compliments National Championships quite well indeed.

I didn't view RJ as a consistently dominant receiver, based on speed, size, separation ability, etc. But he was absolutely a clutch receiver when you needed him most. I agree we don't win one of the titles under Wentz without him - both the SDSU last TD catch, and the heroics against Ill. St. Not sure any of our other WRs could have done the same thing.

That's just it though. You need a clutch receiver. Our best team ever and possibly the GOAT in 2013 had whom?
"The Drive" against K-State. Catches made by Derrick Lang, Ryan Smith, John Crockett, Andrew Bonnett, Zach Vraa.
3 3rd downs completed by pass. No "dominant" receiver.
