UPDATE:
Re-reading the qualifying standards page, it appears that the number of athletes might be the top 48 per region.
If this is the case, there will be more qualifiers. Gonna scour through those rules and update when I get time.
Re: NCAA West Region Preliminary Round
If it the top 48 for each region and not the entire country...………….then...………
For the men....Add:
JT Butler in the 200 meters.
Marcus Walton in the HIGH JUMP.
Brandon Lewis in the LONG JUMP.
Kelle'Mon Hinton in the TRIPLE JUMP.
Michael Keogan in the SHOT PUT.
Jacob Slate in the HAMMER THROW.
Michael Keogan in the HAMMER THROW.
and
Benji Phillips in the JAVELIN.

In past years it has been the Top 48 for each region and is the same for this year.
However, for some events it is fewer athletes and a little different format.
For example, the 4 x 400m relays don't do the Top 48 - it is the Top 24 in each region.
For the multi-events - these athletes do not compete at one of the two regionals - they only compete at the finals and the Top 24 (in the nation) get to participate.

How is the health of the men and women going to the West Regionals (or NCAAs for the mult-event)?
Posted on bisonville was a note that Payton has been fighting injuries so has not been 100%.
