I’m out of the loop on this I guess. What news/post mentions Friday night setup?

NDSU Athletics and Team Makers are excited to announce a new early set-up option for the 2025 Bison football season! Fans with reserved tailgating spots can now set up their space on Friday nights from 4:00–7:00 p.m. in lots E, F, and G at the Fargodome.
Please review the important guidelines below to ensure a smooth experience for all:
All guests are required to exit the above listed lots by 7:00pm on Friday night.
Tailgating activities are not permitted in the tailgating lots during this time.
Alcohol consumption is not permitted in Fargodome lots E, F and G during this Friday set up time - consumption and possession of alcohol is prohibited until 5 hours before kickoff on game days.
Electrical hookups are not available.
Tents, canopies and tarps can be set up at the owner’s expense and risk. NDSU Athletics and the Fargodome are not responsible for any damages or lost property.
Reserved tailgating parking passes must be visible while vehicle is entering Lots E, F and G during tailgate set-up hours.
All vehicles parked in tailgate spots not allocated and/or reserved by vehicle’s owner will be subject to be towed at owner’s expense and risk.
Open flame fires, including fire pits, are prohibited in tailgating lots. The use of Propane and charcoal grills are also not permitted during this Friday designated set up time period.
Please be aware that individuals who violate the above rules and regulations will be asked to leave the property and be subject to legal penalties and the potential loss of tailgating privileges.
There are two dates where Friday set-up will not be allowed due to other large events happening at the Fargodome- the tailgating lot will be used for parking. Reminders will be sent out each of these weeks.
Friday, October 31st due to the MN HS sectionals
Friday, November 14th due to the Dakota Bowl
Glad they are allowing it but I’m not sure there is value for our group. I don’t trust a tent to stay in place overnight. I also don’t trust anyone else’s tent to stay in place and not dent our trailer as it flies through the lot.
If I had a big bus I might park it ahead of time.

News to me as well - the email from Team Makers announcing this was in my spam folder.
Confirmed today that they're cabling the lot off right at 7, which is a bummer for the out of town crowd. I was excited to be able to pull the rig into town and leave it in the lot vs having to drag it to a hotel, all while not having to leave work early. Guess I can't have it all.
Friday night will be so fun, you are going to miss out. Unlimited 3-hours of tailgate set-up with no actual tailgating or drinking allowed! Good job Team Makers, NDSU Athletics, FargoDome and Fargo PD -- this is exactly what many have been asking to have for the last couple 13-14 years.
You guys are just useless taxpayers up there who are to be treated like children. Can't expect the power mongers of Fargo to give up their grip on the mighty Fargodome which they treat like a maximum security prison on Gameday. Why not just open the place up from Friday night until Saturday morning to park reserved space vehicles and to setup tents with no tailgating allowed. Just require people to leave when done parking and setting up. I think that would work just fine, but the a-holes who run the place just assume the worst.
:rofl::rofl:
Dave come on now. YOU know as well as every beer and cocktail swilling guy here that NOBODY is not going to drink and nobody is going to leave until after the game is over unless there are rules saying you cant. But hey that was funny. One of your best yet.:rofl:
We didn't setup Friday night, simply parked our trailer/pickups. Glorious to just walk in at 8:50 and start setting up. Not having to deal with the lineup south of the dome was 10/10. They also have overnight security setup, which I didn't realize prior. They need to work on the timing though and adjust accordingly for out-of-towners.
We did the same with one vehicle and our trailer but then sat line with another vehicle Saturday morning since we had all the food and such in that. I thought there was fewer people parked early than I expected but the line seemed to move quicker than normal which was hopefully a good sign that getting some of the bigger rigs in early speeds things up. Hopefully more people park early as the season progresses.
Good to hear that they have overnight security there. We didn't feel comfortable setting anything up on Friday but saw that there were some people who did.
This is so funny. You park your stuff on friday but you still have to wait in line Sat to get to your parked stuff? Makes no sense to me. Oh well.
Because it's a pain in the butt to maneuver the trailer into our spot when everyone around us is trying to do the same thing. We also have a bunch of vendor vehicles that are parked close to our spot that are always there before the lots open on Saturday and in the way so it was nice to get the trailer into it's spot on Friday when they weren't there.
They provide "overnight security" for Friday night which is why they have to close it up at 7, but yet I see it's officially in the tailgate rules now that you can leave your crap there until Monday at noon with no security.
Hopefully they just get rid of the security component next year and let you park it early whenever as long as you don't break out the beers and meth.
It's unfortunate they don't provide any security during the game out there since that's when everything gets stolen or your vehicle gets backed into.
I believe PL is not in favor of grown adults being able to park their rigs anytime Friday and leave without having an adult beverage. He seems to think everyone is a lush and would not be able to follow the no drinking condition in order to allow more lenient rules on parking (refer to post #12 above).
