How do (will) we play 3 non-conference games this fall?
Dom Izzo put on Twitter that NDSU wants to play 3 non conference games this fall, and ideally all 3 would be in Fargo or at the very least 2 at home and 1 on the road. I think this could be great for NDSU. Hear me out.
NDSU will have multiple weeks to play 3 games. NDSU can schedule a game in Fargo and then wait 2-3 weeks before playing another. This would allow for any needed quarantine period in between the games.
Play 1 game in September, 1 game in October, and 1 game in November. This would be good for any possibility to get the games on (national) tv as well as having fans in attendance, especially in October and November.
Chattanooga's coach has already tweeted that they want to play, are looking for games, and are willing to travel. Lets get them to Fargo.
The downside could be this - if Trey Lance and/or Dillon Radunz tear it up during the 3 games, they could decided to skip the spring games to focus on the NFL Draft (I would not blame them).
I personally would feel confident with Zeb Noland at QB. While he cannot scramble like Lance, he looked good when he got in last season.
Just my thoughts.

You either don't understand how a quarantine is supposed to work or you don't understand how football works. You're not alone though. MLB doesn't understand how a quarantine works either.

Congrats. You with the "prick of the day" award.
I understand both just fine.
There are always moving parts with both. Plus, one must take into account items like false positives. Look at Matthew Stafford. Heck, look at the Northwestern Football Program. They had 37 players forced into quarantine over a false positive.
What each state, organization, program, association, and other group defines as a quarantine as is different from the next.
So don't sit there being rude and smug telling me that I don't understand something .

Honestly I think the most positive aspect for the program playing games in the manner you’ve described is giving the guys four months of practice. Obviously limited game experience, but compared to teams that just completely shut it down we would really be ahead of the game.
Crazy to think that it will have been a year and a half since those teams would’ve last played/practiced.

NDSU Players on twitters actively BEGGING for games
dawson weber, jaxon brown saying. "Please contact our AD, we will play anyone anywhere"

Montana/Montana State double header.
-
Re: How do (will) we play 3 non-conference games this fall?
Not outside the realm of possibility.
If NDSU could get a decent matchup and assuming some power 5 schools are done. We could actually get tv dollars for a game.

My goodness now the players have to do Matt Larson's job.

Clemson is looking for a non conference game. Their original options Akron (Mac cancelled) and the Citadel (half the team not going to practice) aren’t happening now. Give them a call.

How do you know what Matt Larson is doing or not doing? I'm guessing it might take a few days to finalize a deal before it was announced even if agreements were made today.

Exactly. I love how people always assume that someone is sitting around doing nothing if everything isn’t public every waking moment.

Lance vs. whoever clemson's qb is.

What exactly has he done?

Re: How do (will) we play 3 non-conference games this fall?
Why are you guys putting yourself through all this if if if stuff? The odds of ANY college football being played this fall are approaching zero. The MAC just cancelled. The Big Ten is almost ready to pull the plug. The Big 12 is waiting for the Big Ten to go first. MWC will probably go sometime this week. CUSA and AAC this week or next. It's going to snowball fast. You guys are just torturing yourselves by trying to figure out a scenario that might work, only to have it blown up a few days later and repeating the process. Remember the famous definition of insanity.

Probably because we're all die hard football fans and just trying to find a way to handle this shitty no football situation. Won't be arguing about Tyler Roehl or Matt Entz being green. Won't be able to say man we would have blown out Oregon by way more had we had Jabril. No rabbit tears. What would you like us to do? Join the super secret forum? That's getting old too. What the heck are we going to do this fall? Gosh dang it. Life needs to go on.

“The definition of insanity” is one of the most inaccurate and annoying things that people repeat. It’s a mis-attributed quote and wildly incorrect by every measure.

Find some hobbies in life would be a great start.
The "Larson isnt doing his job" argument is tirelessly old. The guy has to call some programs 5 times before he even gets a call back saying no. It's pretty clear alot of the fanbase has absolutely no clue how the landscape of college football works.

I have a suggestion for you personally - if only because I know you possess the technology to pull it off. I say take that shiny new all weather 45-70 of yours out and see if it actually can be an effective gopher getter. How about that?

I've hit a few pigeons with it. It was marvelous. No doubt when you hit it. Nothing swings my gong target as far. Maybe faster. But the 45-70 swings it farthest.

Way, way, way back in the days before electric light I used to shoot doves with my 8 3/8” model 27 S&W. Couple thousand rounds a year. Eventually was good enough to regularly hit the head I was aiming at.
That might not have been a legal bore for that taking. Hope the statute of limitations has passed...
But I don’t know how we schedule 3 games. Don’t hate the idea but don’t see it happening. Anyone know if JMU has been able to schedule anything?
-
Re: How do (will) we play 3 non-conference games this fall?
This fall is essentially a long spring practice hopefully with a few real games. This will get them ready for the spring conference games and ahead of those schools who chicken out and don't practice.

He doesn't come to games; he lives in Calipornia; those of you who don't come to games shouldn't mind it if we, the season ticket holders, do.

Because our coaches and players are practicing and practically begging for games, that's why. We got their back, shouldn't you?

As long as it saves just one life.
