KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
First, let me say I am totally impressed with your fan support, your team success, tradition, your facility, and quality of players you will field. I have been a KSU fan for 41 years that I have lived in Manhattan. I really cannot recall a non conf opponent whose fans were as pumped or confident as the Bison group. Obviously each group of fans is very loyal and the expectations are high as the season opens. So...what is the likelihood of NDSU winning the game. Put your answer in a percentage form. I give the Bison a 20% chance. That means nothing but it's my answer. I think many KSU fans would pick a smaller number than that. I think if you asked Bill Snyder he would say something like "If K-State isn't focused and gives their best effort it might be 100% chance of NDSU winning". That is the way he thinks and coaches. So, try and be objective and give your best guess.
By the way, the new stadium is almost done. Doing landscaping and some finish work. Will def be ready for the game. Stopped and looked at it tonight. It's going to be a great setting for the game with both fan bases very pumped. How many Bison fans do you think found tickets? Thanks

If we control the ball with our running game...if Brock Jensen passes well...we have a better than average chance of making it a good game.
I just want a game.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
Id say 30-35%, but NDSU needs a time of possession domination like @ Colorado St(40-20) for their best chance.
I dont think KState will march up and down on the NDSU defense either since its real experienced, and real good.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I would agree with the 30-35% chance.
The Bison offense should be able to move the ball on K-State. NDSU is not a flashy spread offense team. Blue-collar power west coast offense that thrives on the running game and TOP.
K-State is a huge test for this team.
Will be a good game.

I'm just counting new threads by KS fans until kickoff....

Threads like this work. I am a bit concerned with the Gabe of the South (or Gabe by the Lake depending on the season) starting a few more repeats.

My confidence level is at about 35-40%

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
I give the Bison about a 20% chance of winning, but I am like CA, I just want a good game.
However, if K State scores easily and fast on their first possession of the game, like CSU did last year and Minnesota did in '07 and '11, then I will raise my probability to about 65%. When FBS teams score easily against an FCS team, they tend to relax and think that this will be much easier than they thought, and that is when the stampede will begin. Slowly at first, then a trot, and finally the herd will bury what's in front of them.
So, I hope one of your kick specialists runs back the opening kickoff. Game, set, match.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
I'd say that odds are 50-50. Either they win or they don't.
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
I'd say:
20% chance NDSU wins
70% chance K-State wins by less than 10
10% chance K-State wins by more than 10
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
100% Bison... We will give you nothing and we will take from you EVERYTHING!

45% Bison win.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
Either way, 100% chance this game is talked about by both fanbases for years to come.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
We will win by a margin of 3 points.
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
49% chance of winning. I say its decided by 3-6 points

We may win, we may not. I would call that 50/50. Realistically, I call it at 40% for a Bison win. But, I have a really good feeling about the outcome for us.
As far as number of fans? Probably limited to 3000 because of limited ticket availability. Would be a lot more if more economical tickets were available.

Decent chance of that happening. Our return specialist, Tyler Lockett, has the highest career kick return average among active FBS players. Bill Snyder puts a lot more emphasis on special teams than most coaches and it shows.

Craig Bohl and his staff put a lot of emphasis on special teams also. Details is what a good coach teaches.

this will probably happen. ksu scores on first series. the team and fans think this will be a blowout. might have a little trouble the first quarter but as the game wears on I expect our D to settle down, make some nice adjustments, and execute well
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
I know K-State > Colorado State, but that's what happened last year although it didn't take long for the D to get it together and even score a safety to give NDSU a 16-7 lead in the 1st quarter.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
5-2 Bison win with a three spot in the 4th.
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
8% chance the Bison win. We won't have the time of possession advantage of previous FBS games. Jensen will probably throw a pick 6. Our defense and running game will keep us in it through early 3rd quarter. We lose 31-13 by allowing the last 17 points in the late third and fourth quarters.
Since you were recently at the stadium, are the northeast hill seats somewhat decent, or are we not going to be able to see the field at all?
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
36.758603487488887459% chance of a Bison win according to all of the research, analysis, polls, simulators, rankings, injury reports, graduating players, returning players, suspended players, new recruits, old coaches, new coaches, new stadium addition, ticket sales, ticket prices, tailgating, lakesbison, sam, etc. etc. etc.

Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Brock turns the ball over, 80% K-state wins by 3 scores. Bison force turnovers 60% chance Bison win by under 10.

I've never sat over there of course but I think if you are high enough you will see OK.

My prediction is KSU's message board will look something like this after the game...

33.333% chance Bison win. Any have thoughts on the outcome if its raining, windy? Does either team have the advantage then?
-
Re: KSU fan here: Two weeks out what are the chances NDSU beats K-State?
I'm going to say the odds are four in potato that the Bison win.

I'd say the team with the best rain gear and dry towels would have the advantage.

I think there is a 25.38% chance (with 3/3 odds and a +- 12.9 spread) that the favored underdog will barely win in a close blowout by using the other teams size, speed, and experience to their own and others disadvantage.

NDSU blows out KSU = 0%
NDSU wins a close game = 20%
KSU wins a close game = 65%
KSU blows out NDSU = 15%

This analysis is flawed. A close game is within one score including extra points, i.e., 1 to 8 point differential. Depending on who you talk to a blow out game is 20 points or more differential. Lots of room in there for a games that are competitive, but neither close or a blowout. Need to revise your prediction format unless that is too much for you mister No_Skill.
