I think 09 mentioned that North Texas was big dogs vs ball state and N. Tex came out victorious if that's the case there's a nice upset that started.
Lee is predicting Washington to upset LSU for his upset of the day.

Re: College Football Opening weekend for 2009
Being a USC fan, I am excited, yet concerned, about true freshman Matt Barkley starting the season opener. Yes, USC has tons of skill and just seems to reload, this is the first ever true freshman to start at USC. They get their opponents best shot every week and it could be a huge challenge for the new offensive coordinator.

Don't look now, of course Goldy has his hands full.
UM 14 SYR 20 Half

Re: College Football Opening weekend for 2009
Minnesota's offense has fallen flat. At least they are finally going back to Decker big time here in the 3rd. The U is driving still down 6. I'm still confident:nod:
-
Re: College Football Opening weekend for 2009
The U just tied it at 20 with 57 seconds left in regulation. Pretty good game. MN's offensive line is absolutely pathetic.

Re: College Football Opening weekend for 2009
BYU over OU, wow.
Guess that early injury to Bradford had an impact.
I know it's early and a lot of non-conference football to be played, but that MWC is going to be pretty interesting.
BYU has Florida St. at home in 2 weeks, Utah is at Oregon in two weeks, and TCU doesn't really have many threats on their schedule, aside from conference games with Utah and BYU.
Big conferences better be hoping that all 3 teams beat up on each other...

Ya know, I would love to say that BYU won't get the win against FSU, but I really don't what to expect this season from FSU. Monday night will tell me a lot more...I will hold off on my prediction until Monday evening around 10:30.
The Big 10 had a horriable showing this weekend at best...Oklahoma might have seen their NC hopes go down the tubes when Bradford went out...Alabama looked pretty dang good tonight and Va. Tech still doesn't have any offense to speak of, and Cal is laying a beatdown to Maryland tonight.

TJ you get out of here :D
LSU fan here, that Wash QB is legit and that fresh RB that was redshirted last year due to injury is fast and very good.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
The most incredible tidbit I've heard about college football is that Florida has the same 2 deep roster on defense this year as they had last year. The defending National Champion returns the top 22 players on their defensive unit. I can't hardly believe it. They were talking about it on one of the ESPN talk radio programs a couple weeks ago. Unbelievable.

Iowa State looks terrible.
I'm really trying not to watch this game and think about where our team is at right now considering ISU doubled us up.

i'm not worried at all, we stuck with ISU into the 4th quarter, Iowa struggled last week and are a better team then what showed

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
C. Mich just missed on a 2 pt conversion to win the game at Mich St. Dan Lafefuerfererrrr threw the ball high and out of bounds. Ballsy call to go for it.

-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Fresno slowed down big time, in OT now we'll see what happens here Wisc scored TD already.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
C. Mich is going to kick a fg to try to win it. Great game. C. Mich misses the FG but M. State was offsides. Rekick.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
C. Michigan just barely made a 42 yarder to win the game.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread

I started watching that, but it's tough because I wish both teams could lose.
Watching Okie State vs. Houston. Houston leading 17-7 with 1:30 in the first hafl, kicked a squib to Okie State and recovered it after it bounced off one of the Okie State upmen.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Houston just scored. Now up 24-7 over #6 Okie State with :30 left in the first half.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
When was the last time this many top FBS teams were upset in the first few weeks of the season by unranked opponents? Crazy stuff!
#3 USC upset by Washington
#4 Ole Miss upset by South Carolina
#5 Penn State upset by Iowa
#5 Oklahoma State upset by Houston
#6 Cal upset by Oregon

with the exception to USC, all of these teams are overrated! college football isnt as top heavy as it used to be (other than Florida this year)
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Lots of parity!
My personal favorite today was USF over FSU. Not that I've got anything against FSU.

that's crazy. it's going to be such a clusterfugde at the end of the year. one more reason for a playoff system.
