Bison Hoops Tip Off from 6-8:30 tonight, glad to see this event back in some form after years without a "Midnight Madness". Always nice to get a sneak peak at the team before they play in a game and with guys like Deng Geu and Tyson Ward competing in a dunk contest it should provide a decent amount of entertainment as well. Biggest question here is who wins the 3pt contest, I think Samuelson has the edge but Miller, AJ, Cam or one of the new guys could give him a run for his money.
Wonder why AJ is in a boot.
Will anybody be there? I am going to assume by the attention your basketball board brings that nobody at NDSU cares about basketball.
Michelle Gaislerova won the 3 point contest. Four women and four men competed. The women won the overall total. The high scorer from each team went to the final round. Cameron Hunter was up against Michelle in the final round.
Michelle is a 5-11 freshman from the Czech Republic via Lincoln (Neb) Christian High School.

3. Rocky looked like a guy that could contribute right away, you could tell by his build that he still had that baby fat going a bit like Dex did when he got here, I think a couple years in our S&C program and he's going to be a very solid player for us, very nice, smooth looking jump shot
4. Quayle's shot was a little slow and a little goofy looking. He had good length which will help but I feel like he might be another AJ, who will have to have plenty of space to get his shot off.
5. Yes, Jordan is tall....very tall. He needs this season to bulk up to survive a season banging around down low with D1 post players but once he steps on the court he will be rim protector like we haven't ever seen since I've been around Bison basketball
Women's Team takeaways
I really don't follow the team that closely if I'm honest, it appears we've recruited some decent size, there's definitely some good shooters on the team as the women worked the men in the 3 point contest but the 4 tallest players on the team are 3 freshman and a sophomore and you could definitely tell they were young. I'm guessing they'll get thrown to the fire out of need this season but will definitely be some growing pains due to them being such a young team again.
Thank you. I am hoping the women's team can take a big step forward this year. Yes we are still young but you have to be able to compete. Could see last year they were in most games but then ran out of gas in 2nd half. More legs now and hope minutes can be spread around better. Unfortunately they will be throw into the fire like last years freshman.Quote:

I thought I'd visit your board to read comments on your TipOff. Sorry to hear about AJ and the possible stress fracture (I know there was no pun intended but one poster said the guy couldn't catch a break -- accidental unfortunate word choice!). I don't like to hear about injuries to anyone...seems like AJ has been around a long time.
Personally, I'm glad to see there's no one named Dexter on your roster. That guy played lights out constantly against the Jacks. Had to admire his drive and competitive attitude.

Meidinger will redshirt for sure. I think Van Dulm is the backup PG, with Paul Miller possibly taking some time there as well. Quayle will be the "if needed" rotation guy due to foul trouble or something like that so I don't see any reason why Eady wouldn't redshirt. The intriguing guy would be Kreuser, I feel like the need for a 3rd big is always there as Eliason saw time in a fair amount of games last year and if either he or Dylan get in foul trouble we are all of a sudden in trouble. It'd also be nice to see an actual PF play the 4 spot instead of having AJ or Geu there who are both more of a 3 than a 4. I think he'd benefit big time from a redshirt year but I also think he's the 1 guy coming in that could really help right away.Quote:
