How much over $5 million? In 2019 they donated $5.3 million. I hope we haven't stalled out in growth

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Well you can subtract my basketball team makers money. I have been paying for about 7 years on tickets on end courtside seats. Every game since the SHAC opened people get better seats then I have by walking up to the door the night of the game. They dont have to pay hundreds in fees and get a better seat. I dont mind supporting the team but to get worse seats to do it is just dumb. I have brought this up year after year on my renewal form with no response. I have also suggested throwing in a few women's tickets since there are so many empty seats. I figure it could get some more people in the door and possible new ticket holder. No response on that either.

1) You can move your seats if they are so bad.
2) I like this idea or maybe if you are season ticket holder to men's you give them a break on womens' season tickets
3) This is the goal at the end of the day. I think Coach Collins has the women's program improving and hope the continue it.
I am in the corner by the vistors bench for mens hoops.

Have the girls play first when it’s a double header. Then let ticket holders to either game come early for both.
There’s not many of these games and may spark some interest. I hated going out and standing in the lobby to get in to the men’s.
Agree. Those corner seats are nice. You can see both sides of the scoreboard.
Also many of the visiting coaches put on a show.

It's also the louder end of the court since the student section "church service" is on the other side.
I sit in that area too... I enjoy being within earshot of the opposing head coach when he gets into it with the referees.

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
I don't think the check presented to NDSU by Teammakers is the total amount raised in the year. I believe it is the cost of tuition for the student athletes not covered by other sources. One reason that the check was smaller than last year is that every year more of the tuition costs are covered by payouts from the endowed scholarships. These are handled by the NDSU Foundation.

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Report out today from Teammakers. A record $6,980,000 raised in 2019.

Grandfathered seat fees are escalating until 2023, so every year should be a record, I would think. Unless we see folks dropping season tickets...

Any reason why membership dropped from 2018?

Good question, especially when TMs made marketing push to get to 5K members this past Fall.

Maybe a correlation, maybe not... I'd like to see Basketball season ticket holder/teammaker #'s from year to year. Did the SHAC increase the #... then ultimately decreased after a year or two. Pure speculation on my part.

Outside perspective: A lot of it was likely people who have given up on getting season tickets, weren't giving much anyway and not seeing the value of it. On top of that, tickets aren't as hard to come by right now and they weren't getting their top games from their 6-8 "non-season ticket holder Teammaker" allocation.

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Do the '18 vs '19 numbers show that more money was raised but expenses went up about $300-350k?

The difference between total revenue and amount given to NDSU does not represent expenses. The annual amount given to NDSU is what they need to cover scholarships that wasn't covered by other source.
Some of the excess is being saved for the future.

Or being used for capital projects such as the IPF, Track & Field Complex, Softball Improvements etc..

They've also suckered me into giving them $40 before every game for the 50/50 instead of just $20 since you get even more numbers per dollar when you put in $40.... gotta hand it to 'em with that ploy.

That is why you go in with 4-5 people to get more numbers. That is assuming you are buying them all at the same time.

I find that very interesting. Like you say, they had a membership drive. Off the top of my head I could give you 20+ names of bison fans who are not Teammakers. They get their tickets from one season ticket holder, yet for one reason or another they haven’t contributed the minimum $100. There is huge room for improvement here. I can go up and down the streets of Wahpeton and Breckenridge (businesses) & these people go to games, and they go tailgating, but they are not TMers.

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Wow, El Chapo must have really increased his giving over the years.

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Has there been any consideration/discussion of TMers negotiating with the students re: unclaimed/unused student tickets?
Just wondering?

Not sure what you mean. NDSU sells unclaimed student tickets late in the week prior to the games.

Yes, I realize that, but ...
I was referring to a couple of years ago when they made section 16 seats available to new (& current) season ticket holders, because students weren’t claiming them. I was just wondering if there has been any discussion regarding doing that again? (Maybe this has been mentioned before? I’m a little out of touch.)

I worked with the current class president at NDSU for a few months and asked him the exact same thing. They are certainly talking about it a lot more than people think and he knows that until students start showing up that he doesn’t really have a leg to stand on. So to answer your question, yes. They are certainly talking about it.

Good. I think it would be great to see new season-ticket holder’s in “some” of those seats. i’m sure they were watching the student numbers very closely last season.

Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Looks like the student section is getting pared down again this year as the upper 11 rows (the double letter rows) of all their sideline sections are all being sold as season tickets. That's about 600 tickets I believe.
Also looks like Team Maker dues are up $25 across the board on all seats other than the lower rows between the 20s.

And the increase on those is much higher. My seats will be going up $150 each again.
-
Re: 2019 Semifinals: NDSU v Montana State
Mine went up 50.00 a seat.

Regarding the student sections: that was a good way to do this, imo. Keep the students closer to the field! Good decision!

season tickets renewed, seat fee went up $25/seat
