Joe has had a hard time cracking the rotation for a talented CU squad. His twin brother, Gus, did score his first career bucket for Northwestern this season against Detroit Mercy.

Caitlin Clark drains a 30 footer to break Plum’s career scoring record. She’s on 26 w/ 7 min to play in the 2nd. 6 assists. Just sick.

Oh, I’m pretty sure that Clark going scoreless in the 4th quarter in a loss that might cost them the conference title was not intentional.

That is not what happened. 4 starters (including Clark) played the entire 4th period and the 5th sat for a minute and a half. I watched the game and I checked the box score, I don’t know what you were doing but it doesn’t seem like it was either of those things.

Coach Bluder actually said prior to the game that the intention is to save the record for the home fans at Carver. Clark was clearly taking fewer shots in the 4th and it backfired. It took them out of sync and allowed the Huskers to get back into the game. When they needed Clark to have a hot hand...well we know how it ended. That said, Shelley & Markowski played a GREAT game! But if Iowa plays their normal scheme, Nebraska never claws their way back into that game.

Clark took 25 shots in the game. 6 in the 4th quarter. If you listen to what the player has said she doesn’t care that much about the record, she didn’t want to waste a timeout on Thursday after she broke it. She wants to win and be with her teammates. She said the number she was most focused on earlier this week was 5. The number of regular season games let with her team. The Coach calls the time outs, nothing Clark can do about that. But the coach left her on the court the entire 4th quarter and she can’t make her stop shooting. She didn’t stop shooting. And she’s said nothing publicly to support the notion that she would do something like that.

I didn't claim Clark said it, I said Bluder wanted her to break the record at home.

Bunnies getting pumped by Iowa State; 15-3 early. This may be the only time this season that I will watch an entire basketball game on tv.

how the Summit managed a 15 seed is unreal...don't see them climbing higher soon either the days of the 12 seed might be long gone, hopefully not. takes more than 2-3 schools to care

Our old friend, Greg Kampe and Oakland trying to upset Kentucky.

Love to see Kampe getting that win, guys like him is what made our league so much fun to watch. Sad how far we are from those days.

Between him and Sutton they played the NDSU (student) crowd and think they actually enjoyed it most of the time. It was always good for entertainment along with the good basketball their teams played.

Re: 2023 - 2024 College Basketball
Funny to think not too very long ago, we were beating JMU in football, and no one knew they even had a basketball team.
Now they are top 25 in football and beating Wisconsin in the NCAA tourney.
They have taken the polar opposite path as NDSU

Makes a difference if an athletic department actually cares about basketball and understands how to appeal to other conferences as part of a bigger plan.

Re: 2023 - 2024 College Basketball
#12 seed Grand Canyon takes down #5 seed St Mary’s in the 1st round.
GCU won against NDSU by 15 back in November.
Really good team! 30-4 on the season.

While yes, this is true and reiterates my frustrations with Matt Larson and the entire athletic department over the past 5 years.
But check out this article on how much JMU has raised their student fees to subsidize their recent FBS transition and other athletic department successes:
https://www.sportico.com/leagues/col...on-1234771980/
JMU's student fees that subsidize the athletic department were $53.3 Million in 2023! :eeek: That is just insanity.
From the article:
Quote:
It’s bigger than the total 2023 athletics operating budget for more than 40 FBS schools, and almost equal to James Madison’s entire athletics budget the prior year ($57.8 million).
If NDSU were to ever even think about proposing something like this, there would be riots in the streets.

Nebraska beat Texas A&M 61-59. Logan Nissley (Bismarck Century) had 16 points and Annika Stewart (Minot Ryan 8th & 9th grade) had 4 for Nebraska.
Lauren Ware (Bismarck Century) did not play for Texas A&M due to injury.

Has not affected enrollment at JMU as far as I can see.
I do wear glasses though, so can't say my vision is great

So whats your point?
JMU accepts it. NDSU wont and has voted so in the past.

I don't understand the question...what do you mean, "what is my point?"
I said the crazy student fees has not affected JMU's enrollment.
Was there another question?
