Tied the NDSU record today with 16 career interceptions.
Congrats Marcus!
He didn't see this last interception today until it was basically a foot away from him. What a play!
Marcus is a bonified stud. He has been one of the best recruits we have ever got.
He'll break the record before the year is finished. He made it look like he was the intended receiver on his pick today. Way too easy!
sadly, he should be well over the record. I think he starts lookin for lanes for when he has the ball...before he actually has it, and drops it.
man crush.

Congrats to Marcus!
I think we are gonna see this kid in the NFL!!
That's my boy! Check the sig. line! Congrats M Will! Can't wait to see the next one!
Best FCS player in the country.
I can't believe he gave up that weak sauce completion on 4th down tonight on the final drive....trying to give me a heart attack. I fully expected him to pick it off and take it back to the house. I guess we're just spoiled, because that's what he would do 9 times outta 10 normally.
Also, the shoulder bump instead of wrap-up tackle for GSU 2nd TD.
As if I could do any better...
Dude had a bad game today.
Welcome to the other 100% of football players at any level.
He will be huge in the nc game against a more conventional offense....whether it's ewu or shsu.
This guy doesn't play on Sunday's, he doesn't tackle and and a sunday player makes the play on 4th down. I think this is the bison hype machine at work. He is good, plays special teams, but he isn't a draft pick.
Worst game I've seen from him. Horrible joke of an attempted tackle then he gets beat deep at the end of the game.
He was lulled into sleep a little bit tonight. MWILL is a somewhat cocky player who doesn't always line up with intensity. He sorta just lays back and gives the receiver a step or two because he know's he can always catch up. He fell asleep on the pass tonight trying to defend the option which was obvious on that last pass play late in the game. That is the beauty or nemesis of the option, depending which side of the ball you line up on. MWILL definitely has to become a better tackler if he wants to play on Sundays, but he is a 1000X better tackler than he was when he was a freshman and 500X better than last year. Yes, poor attempt at a tackle in open space late in the game.
Make no doubt about it, if MWill wants to make a play, he will make a play. The problem is he has a little Randy Moss in him. He isn't always giving 100% because at this level, he doesn't always have to. Kinda of a man playing with boys type of thing. Make no doubt about it, he has the skills and talent to play on Sundays, but he will definitely need to have his head in the game 100% of the time in order to play at the next level.
MWill had a rough game but he will be back....only a fool would doubt him. The guy has won us games and don't forget it.
Not that it was a good excuse, but he was stride for stride with the receiver and he was playing the ball (looking back), but I think he got his feet tangled up with his own and tripped at the last second allowing the receiver to make a catch and probably was a lot of jostling going on because both players were playing the ball. The shoulder tackle was just bad football... no excuse for a play like that.
I'm not gonna lie. There are a lot of Homer's on this board. However, if you really believe he isn't a Sunday player you need to lay off whatever you're taking. He's a legit player and a hell of a CB. He is a draft pick. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to put money on it with you. If you wanna take the bet fine, if you wanna back down, well that's what I'm expecting.
Marcus will be just fine, anyone who doubts him be prepared to eat some major crow. Hes never going to have a great game against a triple option. Yes he had two very poor plays but he also made a couple big tackles. I cant even beleive we are questioning his ability right now...
Look at his overall body of work. Positives interceptions and special teams. Negatives, does not tackle, does not look back on the deep route, how often does the ball get thrown over the top of him? All the gets forgotten by the interceptions. Now, what happens when he moves up a level and the receivers are bigger and faster, they will body him off the ball, the quarterbacks will throw where he isn't. Okay, he may get drafted, but he isn't a a Sunday player. And if the attitude and not playing every play is true, well that even makes it more apparent that he is a very good college player.
You are not a 'football guy' are you? This is a knee jerk reaction to a bad couple of plays. Corners are not typically great tacklers. Everybody knows that. I saw Marcus make some tackles last night. The triple option does lure the corners to sleep a little. Pros don't deal with teams that run the ball 55 times kid. Marcus has some of the best ball instincts I have ever seen and he will be drafted, coached, and then we shall see. Dude, go watch some film of him. Scouts don't drool over corners that can tackle, they drool over corners that are lightning fast, have good hands, and make plays. Marcus Williams has all of those things and makes plays. Wake up.
I think he would be a late round pick this year. This time next year he will be at least a third rounder. The fourth and long pass was gsu wanting to throw to their best receiver and taking their chance on mwill. It was a desperate throw, not terrible coverage, and good execution by gsu, which were there too.
The one obvious point that mwill is the real deal is to see how opposing teams avoid him like the plague. He is a shutdown corner at this level. He does exactly what is asked of him. He takes away a third of the field for 95% of the game and then makes teams pay when they try him. Is he perfect? No, but then who is? Is he good enough to pay at the next level? IMHO, no doubt. He does a lot of different things very well and that will translate into serious NFL interest. Will he be a shutdown corner at the next level? Probably not but he doesn't have to be. He will have spent four years playing in a system, the next level is all about systems. They know he can play team defense. He is willing to work within a system and take advantage of opportunities when presented. These are the type of players who add skilled depth to an NFL defense which are that fourth round targets. Mwill will be considered good enough for a late third pick.
Btw, I agree his tackling isn't great but he has gotten better every year. As long as be shows a propensity towards better tackling, someone at the next level can show him better techniques because the NFL has a specialist in every little facet of the game.

He was looking back on the 4th down and long play... In that case it looked to me as if he had a bead (don't know if he could have picked it at min he could have defended it) on that football before the last moment something happened that made him trip, I'll try to see if I can figure it out on the replay. I didn't see the arm behind the back etc, but I do know he was not happy about something that happened as he immediately got up and started talking to the referee in the vicinity.
the coverage on the 4th down play was fine, basically a perfectly placed ball.
